i want to get into masters program and will need to enroll fulltime to get research assistantship. If I get into a good progrom, hopefull i will have no problem getting my h1b again and to green card. With just undergrad degree doing a GC is very difficult, so i was thinking of going masters full time and hope for a research assistantship.

Smart move....and you don't even have to leave the country if you don't want to. Apply the process and leave your current job couple of weeks before your sevis is activated(transferred).
