u r right at some extent Neal_H and its easy to say anything but hard
to follow.... on what basis u r saying that petrol price should be
reduced in Nepal ?? according to the US market ?? Do u know from where
does Nepal import the petrol ?? and what is the cost of petroleum
products in that country ?? first do some research in the topic before
popping ur sentence.... US controls the petroleum market, but while
importing petroleum products from india, nepal pays around 72 rupees
per liter, after that calculate the import tax, transportation cost,
margin for retialers (petrol pumps), maintainance cost, salary for
staffs of nepal oil corporation, etc. thus remains only few amount as
profit for NOC, and by the way price of petrol is rs 90 to 95 according
to the transport facility in Nepal. rural inhabitants are bound to pay
more for petrol.
Now u may wonder still NOC is in profit.. yes
this is the first time NOC is in profit, before that there was almost
570 million rs loss for NOC every month... and NOC still has 2 billion
loan to pay to commercial banks of nepal and almost 3.2 billion rs to
pay Indian oil corporation. so, if it won't go on profit when it'll pay
the loan and get rid of petrolium shortage in nepal. there was some
kind of mis-management by upper level officials and ministers in
earlier days so, it went in loss and even in loan... but not its
growing and developing... NOC is also doing research for good, safe and
more petroleum storage all over the nepal, so they won't run out of
stoke easily when india cuts the supply..... although I am not
supporter of Maoist, I must thank them for proper management of
financial matters, specially in petroleum products..... greater thanks
to Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.. he is true Nepali... better than
f.u.c.k.i.n.g. ghus khor previous ministers....
one more thing, NOC is still suffering loss in supply of kerosine oil, I hope it also will be solved easily...
