dear friends,

I was wondering if anybody has any information regarding student visa to U.K. I am a full time student in U.S with expired F1 visa but valid I-20. Stuck here since last 6 years.

I want to move out from this jail. I was wondering, if we can apply for U.K (student visa) from U.S. Or do we need to go back to Nepal and apply?

Your help will be so much appreciated.

I know u can definately get student visa from US to UK but there has been a lot of change in immigration rule.
Check UK Home office website for precise details.

No matter where you apply, it is always better idea to apply it from Home country. Because you can show stronger tie with Nepal once you are applying from Nepal and it is easier to convince them that you will return to Nepal after the completion of the study. Where as applying from 3rd country there is always a doubt. It may be difficult to show strong tie with US or home country once you are applying from US.

But then, if you get an offer letter from a reputed university in UK, then more than likely you will be granted a visa provided you are financially strong or have scholarship. However, if you are applying to a JHARE college in UK from  US , it is difficult to get a visa since US is not your native country. I have come across 4-5 student here in UK who did their previous studies in US and they  were studying in a good university in UK.

As you said if you are stuck in US and going nowhere, then there's nothing wrong in giving UK a try.

hi sajhafan

well, its kinda dissapointing to hear you are moving from US to UK. if you have some family ties or if there is sth special awaiting you then i 'd suggest you do it BUT  if not UK is too tough for students compared to US. well, think about it man. i am saying so coz i know so. simply look at the fees out there and look at the job chances out there. well,  my words arent enough to tell all these. The bottom line is UK is too harsh, tough and expensive for the students like us.aaaniii gore haru teha ko sucks. anyway like gyanguru said,' the grass always looks green on the otherside'

btw this isnt my thought and oponion i know the stats and i have not just heard it but seen it. the odds for better opportunity are very high in UK..

if i were you i 'd start agin from where you are... aa sachai ' rolling stones gather no moss'/

think about it...take care..
