Kanchhobhai and UofM, thanks for the reply. I want to know as much as about jobs/apartments there. UofM, I am going there for Chemical Engineering (undergraduate). [transferring from Wichita]. I am wondering if we can find offcampus jobs [like in gas stations or other] easily, if there are some nepali students so that we can share apartments. The college has accepted my application. Are you going to Uof M, in twin cities? Don't you think we could be helpful to eachother? Other Sajha friends, Please share your information if you have anything/anyone you know. I am kinda seriously thinking (if not worrying).

Gogol, Congratulations! Its a great news that you got into Twin cities and to put some icing on the cake you are doing chemical engineering. It's the best school in the US for chemical engineering rated by US news and world report and princeton review. I am going there this fall and i'm from DC area. There are plenty of jobs on campus when i looked up online. I dont know much about gas station jobs. On campus jobs pay decents money starting from $10 an hour. But if you are totally depended on your job to pay for tuition then you might want to do more reasearch. It is really hard to get into Twin cities since it is nationally ranked as 71 for all the universities in the US. Once you get in they can even give you financial aid if you can demonstrate that you suffered economic hardship. You must be in your junior or senior years. It's not a guarentee but that should be your last option. Send me an email we can discuss further. And one more question to you, did you receiven any scholarship or you have only gotten your admission letter and trac report? UofM

The bus system in the metro is very good. Try living near the campus, downtouwn minneapolis or in Uptown area, you would not need a car.

UofM and gogol:
Congratulations! That's a good school for engg. Work hard for 2-3 years, finish your undergrad, and you'll def. end up with a high paying jobs. Or you could even go for UofM's extended graduate programs- and per what I know, they pay you pretty well in stipend for grad school.
As they say, prosperity comes to one who works for it.
Cheers,
Kaila Baje

Hello Everyone, While searching for off-campus housing around UofM twin cities, I found two within 6 miles from East Bank college (they said bus route is 2 and 3) and the rent is under 375/per person. If i can find a roommate, i think it is reasonable. Please write you suggestions. Thanks. GOGOL
