As far as I know you can not unlock cell phone by yourself. You need to have certain software to unlock cell phones. You had better to carry cell phone to Cingular stores.

Try making a duplicate key.

Duplicate key are thee spare keys. These keys are required in times of urgency or when required by higher authority.

hahaha cyberharke wat was all that about??...anyways jayamatadi... there are diff ways to unlock the fones.. cingular can actually unlock it for u ..call them up and tell them u r planning to go back home n u wud wanna use this fone, and they will give u the code and instruction to unlock it, this might take a while tho.. or else u can take it to some store and they can unlock it to, they will charge u like $5 or $10, i dont know where u live, but if u r in dallas, u can take it to harryhines..there is this store names national wireless they can do it or some accessory store in irving mall do it too. o ya if u want u can get the code online as well i target=_blank>www.cellunlocks.com.

How to unlock Cingular Phones.
You can unlock using ethical means.

Unlock code is called Subsidy Code
Call customer Service service
( tell them you need to unlock because you are traveling abroad)
Important, as not everyone can request for their phones to be unlocked.

They will give you the subsidy code. Now, once you have the code all you need is a Different Sim card ( not Cintular/att) insert that card and enter the code. Your phone is unlocked.

IF you dont have other simcards, take the device to your cingular store ( they will unlock it for you)

P.S Sometimes, you will not get subsidy code, they will have to make a case and they will call you back in like 10 days.
