I have always been interested in foreign aid and its failure. My committee has advised me to look into doing a case study of "failure of foreign aid in Nepal". I am not sure if it would be possible to get relevant data from Nepali government and officials. I believe I will have to look at it through the inception of the aid to Nepal and approach it through institutional theory... Any suggestions and information? Thanks!

If you are doing for undergraduate level (or Masters), this topic might be OK. If it's for PhD (which I assume as you say dissertation), I am afraid that this topic is nothing new. I know at least 2 people who have been working on this topic.........

Could you give me citation for their work? There are various theoretic perspectives to look at this issue. I woudl like to see what these guys have done. And yes, this is a Ph.D. dissertation.
