Disclaimer: this thread is not for prudes and self proclaimed champions of ethics At some point in life you might face this issue. This is only an imaginary circumstance. Let's say you have a significant other and you love the person dearly and want to spend your life with that person. Let's say, in your day to day interaction you meet another person of opposite sex who also has a significant other who they're happy with. But, you and that person sense a spark which is physical. You and that person both know each others significant others and perhaps even meet up on special occassions and get togethers. Is there anything wrong with consensual sex? After being physical with the same person for many years, a new physical relation seems very enticing. As long as we love our significant others and want to spend our lives with them, is there anything wrong with spicing up our lives with a little consensual sex on the side?

hmm.. would you be ok if your significant other had sex with someone you knew just because it was more exciting? think of how it is going to affect your relationship with your loved one if he/she found out you having sex with your friend. I think it is wrong because I don't want my bf to sleep with any other woman, no matter how exciting and fun it might be.

Let's modify the scenario little bit... what if those two individuals are not completely strangers, they used to date each other (still have feeling ) and after years they meet but have significant others now. Can they still be attracted to each other? Is it right to have a relationship with that person again? Keep it in mind they still have feelings for each other.

I definitely think you can do whatever you like : unless scorned by this thing called "GUILT". Today, you meet the girl , have "consensual sex" or whatever, Tomorrow you meet some other girl. As long as you are OK with a guilt-free conscience that you are not cheating your other one, it is perfectly OK for you to commit the act. Now, one more point: If you are married, its NOT ONLY about you. You should make it feel a guilt-free thing with your beloved too.

Ok lets say that you and your significant others don't have similar degrees of sexual needs, and your significant other is fine with you having sex with another consenting adult.

Your last question sounds like you might fit in the "Swingers Club" category. The biggest question is the consent of your spouse. It might sound ethical but you aren't right until your spouse knows about it and gives his/her consent to it. If your spouse doesn't want to partake in the exchange (a la Swingers Club), then that's okay. BUT!! If he/she doesn't know then it is NOT okay. Browse up and see the question posed by Elpida.
