One of my friends is going through hard time. Because his mother died, he had to go back home and couldn't come back to the US in time, hence couldn't renew (or extend) his H1B visa. Now he is back, but he lost his job. What can he do in this situation to remain in-status?

The solution we are thinking for him is his going back to school. He has Masters degree as Math major and he completed GRE more than 5 years ago; so that GRE is no longer going to work. And he doesn't want to take (and the time doesn't permit, too) GRE in hurry and be ready for the Spring semester. Does anybody know the school for PhD that does NOT require GRE?

Thanks, but not a good option. There ARE universities that do not require GRE. Only the thig is that they usually require some work experience, which he has. I know a very few of those universities and I am interested in getting to know more.

Today is 18th Oct. Spring starts around mid January. And, there is a deadline for everything.

C'mon, Dukulanthe, I am NOT talking about GRE at all.

I am just seeking the suggestion from the people that KNOW the name of the universities that do NOT require GRE for PhD program. And, the deadline I am talking about is for the school, not for GRE. (BTW, Dukulanthe, if YOU are taking GRE, the earliest available date is February 10, 2007). Thank you! :-s
