I am planning to go to Nepal. Have got some heavy load, that I would rather do cargo than risk it weighing at airport. Anybody has idea how to do it? cheaper ways? Fed EX and UPS , USPS are all costly.

Moonlight,
I suggest you to cargo the goods that you got, otherwise this will be a heavy headache if you travel with. Once cargo is done you will receive a slip that you present at internatioal cargo center in Nepal to claim your goods. Remember you have to pay custom fee In Nepal which is depends what sort of items you got. Certainly this will be cheaper than you pay per kilo at the airport.

Friends,
Sometimes it takes weeks to take your stuffs out of the Cargo office. You had better send it via air, otherwise officers in the Birgunj Dry Port keep it as if it is theirs. In Kathmandu, Gidda jasto ankha bhako officers le hunu nahunu asulna khojchha, ani bahira bolaera "esso sahayog gardinus, sabai eti milaidinchhu bhanchha". Shameless people. I was ready to pay taxes to the things I bought new, and bargained for the used stuffs. Just for that I had to wait for two weeks, finally all the stuffs came out with tax paid (as per Nepal tax policy). Thanks, guptachar police!

I know there is an DHL office in ktm.
It can surely cargo your goods.
Or you can choose ThaiCargo.
