Close source said King is ready to step down. According to the report SPA are already in meeting to choose the new Prime Minister and Ministers. More news soon... Congrulation to all SAJA's readers who post for restoring democracy again. I hope SPA's leader realized their mistakes and will work together to make better Nepal.

Highfly, I do not read everything and do not pay attention to everything I read in Sajha these days. So you will have to forgive me. As for your longing for peace, needless to say it is a common longing for every Nepali. Only that, Nepal has come to a point captured by an old Newari poem, क्रान्ति बिना शान्ति मरु । अब क्रान्ति बेगर को शान्ति खोजेको हो भने, it's unrealistic at this point of time, in my humble opinion.

Nepe, Let me reapeat it again then. You cannot cross the river on a boat with rats in them who wouldl sink it. No significant threat could be posed against royal regime with corrupt and inept leadership. Or esle it might be just a walk in the park to maoists. I want democracy to prevail. For that, first step is to get rid of traitors like girja, makune, and eta al. I get sick when I hear Nepalis dying. Their death has been dishonored by leaders. Also, first and foremost objective should be to keep maosits out. I have not found any way to trust them. Their whole ideology is based on vilolence and dictating commoners. And Nepe, the old Newari might be right. Che said non-violent revolution raises helll. Also we want mass movement with some strategic planning. Not the mobs on the street who are out on the street to hurt commoners rather than help them. 5 people have died on the street. Many will die beofe king steps down. I do not want their death be dishonored by maoists and 7 parties. I do not belive anybody has right to encourage to take bullet if the person encouraging is ready to take one with the crowd. To end, I aint got any grunge agist you. In the time of crisis, I accept harmony among Nepalis than bickering. peace out

Foreign Ministry summons US envoy Moriarty James F Moriarty (File Photo) James F Moriarty (File Photo) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday summoned US Ambassador, James F Moriarty, on Tuesday for his comment against the King. According to sources, he was summoned for his sharp comment on if the king further delays returning power to people in an interview to CNN. Foreign Secretary Hira Bahadur Thapa reminded the envoy about diplomatic norms while making comments on Nepal’s King and other internal affairs. According to reports, an official at the American Centre confirmed that Moriarty was summoned by the Ministry, but refused to give further details. Moriarty received royal audience on Sunday. The US has been asking the King to find consensus with the political parties to restore peace in the country. The US dubbed the royal takeover of February 1 last year as setback to democracy and stalled military assistance to Nepal. nepalnews.com pb Apr 19 06

Dear mampaka, mokshya and highfly, I agree with you all. Changing just leaders, parties or constitution won't solve our problems. Our problems are deep-rooted and very complicated.

AP98 Illeteracy and poverty are the two results, not the cause. Give it a thought... Why are people of nepal poor? The Per Capita Income of Nepal is 238 I believe. Where is the money? Do you know that more than 40% of Nepalese do not even earn $50, where is the money folowing then? Do you realize that the yearly salary of the King alone is more than a quarther million dollars constitutionally, forget about queen and prince. Above that the whole budget from the government is spent lavishly in building palaces and foreign tours, buying Jaguar Cars. Does that sound familiar? About the illeteracy, aggreed that Nepalis had poor infrastructure of nepal pushed back the nepalis from education. Foreigners wanted to educate nepalis, the budget of the whole programs was directed towards some other direction. where did the money go, why are the sons and daughter of the wealthiest nepalis all studying with private budget? The country was divided with caste system such that 25% of the nepalis dont even think they should go to school.. how did all this belif of Shudra come? its all integrated into the belif the rulers of nepal groomed into the minds of Nepalis.. Thus are the results of your so called problems. The problems are not poverty and illeteracy, the problem is the system, the way things are handled and money blown. The problem is the hesitance of the society to open their eyes up. I (though not being supporter) believe that Maoist are the reasult of this system. The leaders of Maoist being People of upper cast, did let the people (illeterate and poor) realize whats been going on and are driving them. Now where will they drive them after they acheive their goal is beyond my speculation. So my friend, Understand what and why people are REVOLTING, its not against the King or SPA or Maoist, its against the system

What the fuk ? What US wants Nepal to have a democracy like Fukin IRAQ and Afganisthan ? Where there are still bombs and guns going of on a daily basis ? And they are one to be fuking talking about democracy after what they fugging did in Abu Gharib and Guamtanamo ? And not allowing any of the anti war protesters into their Republican rallies in last Presidential elections is very democratic too ? They have the fuking nerve to go around lecturing others on what democracy is. And FBI keeping tabs on all anti-war protestors is fuking democracy. Just 2 yrs ago people who spoke out against the war were considered people against Patriotism. C'mon now. And all the fuggers running on the democracy banner, what after the king steps down ? Back to the fuggin TUG O WAR between all the parties ? WHAT ABOUT THE FUGGIN PEOPLE ? AND CLOSET MAO'S LIKE NEPE AND HIS FUGGIN CRONIES HAVE NO FUTURE PLANS. I think they should mediate between all 3 factions concerned and bring stability back. Without stabilty, law and order THERE WILL BE NO LAW AND ORDER. Remember what happened in IRAQ right after US took over ? all that looting and kidnapping ? YEah thats what's gonna happen in Nepal if they don't plan ahead. Do you know that a kg of ONION is 65rs, a kg of meat is Rs 200 now ? Who the fug is going to regulate that if there is no law and order ? How is a fukin bhariya going to feed his family with a Rs 150 a day wage ? YEah NEPE and company do not want to be bothered by petty lil things like this. They want democracy restored while poeple starve to death.

Highfly, We had very limited conversation that too very long time ago. So grudge etc are out of question. Besides, as you must have noticed, when posters get too nasty, I just ignore them. That said, it's good to sense that you no more see peace or whatever was there in the royal takeover and now probably have sympathy to ongoing Jana-andolan, as you have given some nice suggestions to it. I think the movement is doing good. As more people and diverse groups are joining, it has become more confident, mature and gentler too. A lot of us are discussing about ways to make it more gentler and friendly to security forces. You must have heard new slogans like "Police-sena Dajubhai". Soon you will be seeing flowers offered to security personnel. Everybody is aware that it has surpassed party politics and has become a national awakening, an once in a life time, never to repeat again, final revolution for freedom. So everybody is alert to make it right, make it good, make it perfect, make it memorable and glorious. Just see the diversity of people, variety of procession and sheer number of people and their restraint. Number of protesters killed by king's bullets crossed two digits, yet you do not see a revenge violence. It should give so much pride to every Nepali and some lesson to the Maoists. As for the Maoists, they are there without their arms. They are welcome. An unarmed Maoist is as good as any other unarmed and peaceful andolankari. Nepali people at large welcomed 12 points agreements between the political parties and the Maoists thereby showing their support to welcoming the Maoists to a new Loktantrik mainstream established by people themselves through a movement or through Constituent Assembly. In fact this is what the ongoing movement is all about. People never supported political parties' andolan that sidelined the Maoists issue and sought kursi and kursi only. The first wave of popular participation in andolan was in the pro-republic Nagarik andolan initiated by CMPD and the second one was after the 12 point agreement. The ongoing andolan is the continuation of the second wave that approved and welcomed the Maoist's renewed commitment to end the insurgency for a democratic republic. Just that, it has reached to a new height from where it is probably not going to wait for Constituent Assembly to do the monarchy away with. Constituent Assembly will probably be a post-revolution project to draft a new constitution. So, keeping the Maoists away is out of question. Keeping their guns away from the movement is the need of the hour. And Maoists are complying it so far. So, there is no problem. As for lekhajokha of Maoist abuses and war crimes, that's for a post-revolution war tribunal and as for other stupidities, that's for a free and fair election to take care of. You don't get more justice than that. I am sure the Maoists will be punished at the war tribunal and in the election. What remains after that must be acceptable to us. That's the way life is. So, a rough sketch of our near future is a republic, liberal and inclusive democracy with old political parties as well as new political party of the Maoists and probably a party of the royalists, if Gyanendra did not meet the fate of Ceausescu or Milesovich. Nepe

Nepe States"You must have heard new slogans like "Police-sena Dajubhai". Soon you will be seeing flowers offered to security personnel." Really Nepe ? he he Do they do that while throwing stones at them or while they are burning public property ? Nepe States,"Everybody is aware that it has surpassed party politics and has become a national awakening, an once in a life time, never to repeat again, final revolution for freedom." Really Nepe ? And what was that we had in 1990 ? How many times do WE(THE FUKING PEOPLE) have to go through this ? BECAUSE OF THE FUKING BICKERING POLITICIANS FIGHTING FOR THEIR KURSII WE HAD TO GO THROUGH THIS FOR A 2ND TIME IN 16 YEARS. We reached this point because of these greedy politicians. Nepe States,"As for the Maoists, they are there without their arms. They are welcome. An unarmed Maoist is as good as any other unarmed and peaceful andolankari." And you trust them ? What makes you think they will give up their ARMS ? Its been over 10yrs and more than 10,000 have lost their lives by their violence. And you think they are just going to hang up their arms JUST LIKE THAT huh ? he he Thats very naive of you Nepe. I for one do not trust them. Nepe States," The first wave of popular participation in andolan was in the pro-republic Nagarik andolan initiated by CMPD and the second one was after the 12 point agreement." Damn Nepe for a moment I thought maybe you were coming to your senses. But it all got fuked by you promoting your Republican Movement Again. Dun worry You will also get some KYabaath(maybe with some Ambassadorship somewhere for organizing your republican ZULUS in NYC). he he ITS THE PEOPLE'S MOVEMENT NEPE NOT YOURS NOT MINE NOT REPUBLIC, NOT COMMUNIST, NOT CONGRESSI, NOT ROYALIST........ITS JUST PLAIN AND SIMPLE NEPALI PEOPLE. I AM JUST SICK AND TIRED OF THIS PARTISAN BULLSHIT. Thats is the main reason we in this fuking mess in the first place. all the fraction between people Marxist, Leninst, Congress, Royalist ? What difference does it make ? Same with your Republicans. I am really fuking TIRED of this bullshit. Just the fact that people did not agreewith your veiws here and you had to go form your own discussion group in Yahoo just shows the same mentality as them fuking politicians.

AP98 Sorry for the delayed response. I was surprised by you being anxious about how many jillas I have visited. Well your motive was not very clear but let me figure that out, coz I mentioned about the $50 Per capita income for the poor. If I am right then let me let you if you are so novice in Economics, it counts all the activities any citizen works for and a moori of dhan (Rice) would be evaluated almost equivalent to $10 if I am not wrong. so you evaluate...... But have you given your thought into Illeteracy and Poverty yet?

Bath, As you know, I do not give a shit to your rubbish talk. The same goes this time. However, you have asked a reasonable question regarding trusting the Maoists. So I will answer that one. > What makes you think they will give up their ARMS ? The democratic republic of Nepal, my friend. That's what makes me believe that they will give up their arms. In democratic republic, they will want to be a political party. And they can not be a political party unless they give up the arms. Simple as that. As long as monarchy is around, they will definitely not give up their arms, even for CA. That's for sure. The Jana-andolan has become decisively pro-democratic republic. So, there is no reason not to believe that the Maoists disarmament is realistic and not very far. If you are talking about chances of the Maoist backing off from their public and private (with SPA) commitment to democratic republic, it's next to none.
