FYI from newslookmag.com. Sajha.com could be next. Who knows? === FILTERED News-not-loo_king? Our Web-savvy King loved to browse newslookmag.com. Not anymore. Bloggers in Nepal report he has blocked this magazine, one of the few uncensored news outlets on the beleaguered country. For a good reason, no doubt-- why let the world's media pass judgments on Nepal's ailing politics? This site also can no longer be accessed in Nepal by the agitating party workers as well as the militant Maoists, always in pursuit of current political info. Why enable them any insights about the unfolding developments? To the surprise of His Majesty himself, Newslook does not loathe his very, very important step in filtering this magazine off the Web. After all, the international media hardly have anything positive to write about Nepal-- this was true even before the royal takeover. And this is precisely the point of this magazine. Having said that, Newslook remains undeterred. The king put it aptly yesterday: He has to do what he has to do, and they [the world community] have to do what they have to do. Needless to say, Newslook cannot be an exception to that royal axiom. (Feb 23/05)
