does anyone else think it is INSANE that the maoists denied deuba's offer for peace talks? i mean, nepal is just going to continue spiralling into oblivion unless all of this violence stops! and elcetions?! are you f*cking kidding me?! i mean, of course elections are the ideal way to select a government, but does anyone really think nepal is ready to hold democratic elections? if the maoists aren't on the ballot, can you imagine them letting these elections take place peacefully and without disturbance?! i was just so hopeful that they would return to the table this time. when will it all end....

I wonder why? As long as we worship Chor Netas like god, we will be living in hell. It does not make sense why people have to suffer just because army did their regular job checking Girja at the airport.

Elections can be tricky. On one hand, it is the only way one can have a democratic society. On other hand, in situations such as that of current Nepal, it can be a tougher task than climbing Mr. Sumeru. True... they were able to hold elections in such dangerous places as Kashmir, Sri Lanka, some war ravaged African nations. So that makes one think it could be possible even in Nepal. Interesting event to watch, and to learn from, would be upcoming Iraqi election later this month. Situation there is more dire than what we have in Nepal. All the world is waiting to see if Sunnis will come out to vote despite the threat of their fellow Sunni Jihadists. If the current interim government (well, Americans to be more precise) can pull off a valid election and set up a valid government in Iraq, that just bolsters the argument that election is possible in Nepal. The keyword being "possible", that is.

i figured that one out. to climb "mr. sumeru" would have to be in another thread!!! i think you made a very good point about the elections in iraq. but even if they are successful and democratic, does that mean there has to be an american invasion (or even supervising presence) in nepal just to carry out democractic elections?! god, i hope not....

i guess manepalihokya is relatively new to sajha. malai nachinneko le.... a question for you- so far today, you have insulted me personally twice. yet you still have not made any intelligent remarks regarding the topics at hand. what are your thoughts about the topic of discussion? not about me, but about the topic itself....
