Crown Prince escapes accident
Post Report
POKHARA, July 12 - Crown Prince Paras narrowly escaped from what could have been a major accident here Sunday morning.
At seven in the morning, the speeding car carrying the crown prince bounced off the road after hitting a partially covered-ditch across the road at the Shahid Chowk tri-junction before coming to a halt.
According to security sources and eyewitnesses, three groups of Armed Police Force personnel at the security check point, alarmed by the loud sound of the impact immediately took position and aimed their guns at the car. A pistol was also pointed at the security personnel from inside the car.
Fortunately, a security person approached the car and recognized the person inside the car as Crown Prince Paras. He apologized for the incident and the car drove towards Lakeside.
After spending a night at Ratnamandir, a royal retreat in Pokhara, the crown prince returned to the capital Monday by a regular Buddha Air flight.
