This is the first time I am planning to go back Nepal for Dashain. Can veterans here shed some light on when, where and how to get cheap tickets? What is considered cheap for a round-trip ticket?

Normally, Dashain/Tihar (Oct/Nov) ma aru bela bhanda sasto nai huncha ticket...now it depends on where you are flying from...If you are flying from big cities like New York, Chicago, Dalls, LA, etc, you shhould not be paying more than $1000 for a round trip to be considered cheap (you might find cheaper).

You can either contact to travel agencies (some of which you can see here in the homepage of Sajha) or check yourself in sites like orbitz, Kayak, skyscanner etc..

I tried kayak.com and other similar sites, and the lowest I got was also $1000. I am not sure if I should book now or wait for it to get even cheaper. Maybe I should also contact the travel agencies to see if they can get me cheaper deals.
