Are there some genuine IT folks here in Sajha that have or are interested in discussing IT career/jobs/opportunity and recruiting? Can anyone point me to such a post or discussion thread if you recall seeing it ?

who are genuine IT folks?the genuine IT folks are no one but the same 6 months dba and sys admins after a year or 2 years of IT experience. IT industry is totally corrupted and it makes a mockery of hard work and college degrees. what's the point of going to school in the USA for 5 years when you have to be lucky to start out with 17 bucks an hour to start a internship career, where as dv lottery winners can go to 2 months of training and get a job of DBA and sys admin which takes at least 5-10 years of career advancement for the genuine college graduate. I would think these kinda scams only existed in the third world country, but no here it is more rampant. do these guys never get busted? i am sick of so called IT engineers, bragging to the folks back home that they somehow became engineers in 2 months without going to school back home.

This would end once the bigger players of IT consulting like TCS and infosys come crashing down in US job market which is happening soon. All these small consultancies will automatically perish. At least in consultancies they try to train the guy, in bigger companies there is no training involved. Anyway coming to the point, if IT job is easy.NO,it is not easy.It feels easy because as a contractor most of the times there is very minimal responsibility as you are hired for a project work. People who make the most of their responsibility will move on and end up getting a better job and people who think it is easy and spend their days staring at computer will end up being nowhere in couple years time. "jun goru ko sing chaina tesko naam tiger" vanejastai jaslai IT ko concept usko title "Engineer".

@tihar Good Points. I would also like to highlight another point. There is a significant number of IT jobs in Financial Service Industry. Banks, Insurance Companies and most prominently Health Insurance Companies. These companies are trillions of dollars in aggregated assets and have more than millions of employees combined. They have thrived in monopolistic markets so entry for new players are almost impossible. Due to the business model that have made them successful (mergers, regulations, lobbies etc) they are also highly bureaucratic. Thousands of Programs and Millions of individual projects require immediate resources. While most of them get genuine candidates there are plenty of instances where candidates like myself slip in. Some projects are downright grinding but a significant number of them might also be ridden by red tape and baloney of paper trails. That's where @thukka might have gotten some idea to write this thread. Like tihar mentioned, some will survive and thrive. My point being - why complain? If you are not in IT and assume it is easy or whatever preconceptions you have, why not try it yourself? And not to generate any negative conclusion. My point is...well I think I lost my point. Damn ADHD!
