Hello Friends,
I will be graduating in Fall, 2011. I haven't applied for OPT because i am planning to go back home. Now, is there a point to apply for OPT even if i am returning? Please inform if there are any advantages to have an OPT, even though i am not staying here for job or internship.
I do plan to come back for my CPA exam. Does anyone know the process of visa application, if i wish to come for the exam only?
Thanks in advance.

If you're not returning for a job, your OPT will be void in 90 days. So, I don't see a point in applying and spending over 450 dollars. Coming back for a CPA exam, now that's an entirely different scenario. Even if you had OPT, you couldn't come back cause the counsellors, immigration officers would want to see a proof of a job offer.

If i have a job offer, can i come back then? I don't think the immigration officer would let you in, if you show your OPT.

Don't quote me on this, but I know friends who've travelled during OPT to nepal and got back. The catch is you'd got to have the necessary documents (esp. job offer and your start date etc.).
