I did a week research to find out why some countries are poor and why not others. I  found many reasons. Corruption is one of the biggest problems, which i enlist on the top. The word corruption looks simple, someone making money illegally, thats it, but consequences start from there. Let me tell you an ecosystem, why corruption makes a country poor. someone  is giving bribe to a government employee more than he needs to pay just to get his things done early than regular time. for an example passport cases.
That person is paying more than he was thinking or more than his saving that means he has less money for his basic needs such as foods for his family. Look at this situation again, it seems simple but he did a big mistake, he did a crime, he make someone rich and he becomes  poor now. He added one more step in distance between rich and poor. Now let me ask economist what you called this situation??

Again, that act now creates problem in his family. His children join government school, children do not get proper vitamins in their regular meals which might cause growth problem  because parents could not afford it. As children grow up, they start demanding things they like which is normal or even worst situation, spouse might have her request from her side too. Now, he might sees some people around with big buildings and cars in their garage. He totally forgets that he had contributed in that big properties.  He  becomes frustrate and jealous, and dreams some ways to become a  rich or get them down in anyways. Now a smart character pops up in here  and start manipulating these kind of frustrated people. Lets called this smart guy "S". S starts seducing people and vow to fight against those rich people with their help.  They start making groups and start fighting against government destroying gov. buildings and infrastructure like bridges, roads. Now, what happens, other people who were just enough to make their basic needs fall down to poverty line. Gov, needs to build that destroyed building which cuts off the planned road and bridge projects which leads country gets down in the scale. This is what happening in Nepal, Africa or other poor nation.
Now what, things turn around, S sworn as leader of the country, can he solve the problem ????Hell no, he does not the fact how people are getting poor. He might give them some money from the gov, revenue. He will most probably involve to share that bribe. So what is the solution? educated public saying do not pay  more than they need to pay and wait in a line. It might be possible but its a lengthy process. So what than, put a radar on gov.employees is only the solution to the above mentioned problem. Who can do it, see if country is in trouble, Press or journalist can  dig it out, but press world in Nepal is gay . Now we the People who are living outside the country can do it. Lets find solution how can we can hang radar in every gov. office and make it transparent to the world.
Is it going to solve the problem?
well, there will not  be any illegal activities in the airport, tax office, or any revenue collections offices. This money will go in developments like roads, building, bridges.  people will get a job and save little money for their children or do some investments and that will creates some more job opportunities. see how things work.

what you guys think now???

yes, the main problem is corruption and dishonesty in a public office. a country cannot move forward unless the government officials do the right thing. look at Africa and some Asian countries, despite millions of dollars of aid, the counties are in the same situation as 20 years back. people are still singing "we are the world". it is ridiculous.

Niccee...you have identified the problem. But smartttt that does not solve the problem!!!

Is it about a person with an idea or a person with both idea and action?

To my experiences in country as ours we have good planners, policy makers, dreamers, consultants etc but the resources gets limited with the scope of Implementation.

To combat corrpution if the legal system is not trusted, how shall it work?

Countries with good legal system and implementers have been transparent for their overall growth. The paper work culture which stands very strong on these country have almost lost its value in our country. How often do we ask a receipt of any transaction done either in government, business, or daily transaction?

Shared my few cents!!! If you don’t want yell it back I will take it like a man.

Corruption cannot be the no 1 reason for a country being poor. You can even make a point that corruption is an effect not a cause, i.e. corruption is rampant when a country is poor. Corruption is found everywhere, including the rich developed countries.

I haven't done any research on this subject so cannot tell you what the cause is but there has to be a reason why a society adopts corruption to a scale that it is uncontrollable. It is more than education. I do believe it trickles down from top to bottom. A good legal system (constitution plus bylaws) and a solid enforcement of this is definately the cure for both economical and corruptional issues.

Poverty has a vicious cycle,  in rich country they have white color circle and in poor country it was in government territory now it has been reached to thug territory, who are taking lead.

These thugs have no mercy, if they can make good money they will sell  their own mother to RED LIGHT area business.

yes I agree too....@That person is paying more than he was thinking or more than his saving ........its the reason behind falling in poverty. But why and how many people in a country are paying more than saving and what are the major areas that most people pay high than they think should be analysed by the government,i think. And should act accordingly.I guess the government can pull the country out if he makes a sound plan.....like mobilization of local resources and creating local jobs as well as providing some incentives to those sector where majority of people fell they are paying higher..........

We know the problem and as well how to solve it too.

For sure, politician  do not want the solution because there will be no politics. Maoists want more poverty so they can brag about distribution of wealth and they can show to the poor people when we rule you will be getting these lands.
Guess what, if we combine the total wealth accumulated by Maoists is greater than rest of the citizens. Who are the new land owner in big city east to west are Maoists.
