these are really boring lots

au contraire, i find it 10^infinity X better than those racial growls and superiority- complexity- infected threads where users go gaga over themselves thinking that just because they don't have to show their shameless faces in public, they can type anything.

on a personal note, threads like nautanki, chautari or those pertaining to timeless beauty of songs, stories and other literary works, where people share their remarkable experiences embellished with camaraderie and kinship for each other have extended my otherwise near-about extinct stay here in sajha. :-)

I hate to state the obvious, but you can always not open the thread if the contents are not to your taste.

To Loote's point, each of those threads he mentioned serve to bring people together in their own unique ways. I completely agree with his take. I think this trend in Sajha is a reflection of a larger trend on the internet as seen with the popularity of sites like Myspace and Facebook all of which, like these threads on Sajha, seek to connect people with common interests in whatever ways the users please.

While the organizing principle of content on Sajha is still of a bulletin board nature which was very popular at one time, the actual content itself is much more on the lines of what you see in the rest of the social internet : blogging and sharing items and ideas of common interest to people.

Bottom line: nothing extraordinary going on here, things are just moving with the times. NatankiLand, Chautari, Another Song, Song Dedication, Sooo Happy ..., NFL Playoffs, A sher a day, etc (I know I missed a few) are all just another sign of the times.

Just my thoughts.

Every member of Sajha is equally entitled to express or share his/her views in whatever way he/she finds it comfortable. Yeah, I subscribe to the view of Captain Haddock and one can always refrain oneself from visiting the thread that is not of ones taste. I guess this way one can save times and much more. I am a voracious reader of sajha posts but I don't go back to the threads that don't interest me. No offence Hippocratic Oath, but I would like to ask why the heck do you care what these people on Nautankiland or whatever do or talk about? To be honest the content of this Nautankiland thread doesn't interest me and I don't visit this thread as simple as that. But it doesn't mean that I should go bitching people only because they don't talk or do what I think is right or what I like. As the saying in Nepali goes "नजाने गाँउको बाटो नसोधनु |"
