Hello Pilot sir I heard americans are joining Indian army and maybe even Nepali army because they can't get a job here and because they would become citizens of India and Nepal respectively.

Pilot23 i think he don't know what he is talking about or he don't understand english probably. So far as i my knowledge i think if you have a bachelors degree you can get into the Nepal Army till 25 which is the max to get into it but if you don't have a bachelor than i think it's 18 or 19.

A friend of mine was an army pilot, I haven't heard much from him recently but he was happy back then. He was going abroad for further pilot training sponsored by the army. I know he returned back to Nepal but don't know much. He was pretty young when he joined (this is 10 years back) but I assume you can join until 29 based upon the link above. Take a look at the fleet Nepal army has: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nepalese_Army_Air_Service Not sure if they are better than Tara air but do your research and good luck. Make us proud.

Don't recall the exact figure but I know it wasn't as much as the private airlines. You will get many perks though and good exposure. It is a competative selection process though much like getting into army under tech quota or army school (for civilians).

you don't join army to make money , period. speically Nepali army. most nepali join Nepal army for prestige in the society and when they become officers they can have ardalis and stuff. it's a secure job but you will get sick of hajur, baksieyos, marji hos, jar sab, may sab, crap.. unless you actually like it. i think a second lectuant would make around 12 k.

kalopani you are right. people join nepal army for mostly prestige. people from remote places of nepal and people who do not have much opportunity join it for financial stability. they are usually the bottom ranking people at the army and most of them wont make it to officer level their whole life time. theres another class of people who do it entirely for prestige. in this case, people with army background in family, army connection and high school graduates who plan to make it through the ranks to become COAS. for instance General Gaurab SJB Rana, who is the next COAS after Chhatraman Gurung. Rana is the richest person in the army since he is "panati" of chandra sumsher and his sole purpose to serve in the army is for prestige and power. you will start as leuitnent around Rs. 14,000 per month in the army even if you have pilot license. its very tough to get in and might require some connection in the army. the job brings you a lot of prestige, respect and power. army send their pilots frequently to the US for training and its all paid for. army job is not for you, if you looking to be rich but you can build some good hours flying and be financially stable. if you can get it, its good. good luck. heres the salary structure http://www.nepalarmy.mil.np/salary.php
