By Brian Alexander

Prahlad Jani, an 82-year-old Indian yogi, is making headlines by claims that for the past 70
years he has had nothing -- not one calorie -- to eat and not one drop
of liquid to drink. To test his claims, Indian military doctors put him
under round-the-clock observation during a two-week hospital stay that
ended last week, news reports say. During that time he didn’t ingest any
food or water – and remained perfectly healthy, the researchers said.

But
that’s simply impossible, said Dr. Michael Van Rooyen an emergency
physician at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, an associate
professor at the medical school, and the director of the Harvard
Humanitarian Initiative – which focuses on aid to displaced populations
who lack food and water.

Van Rooyen says that depending on
climate conditions like temperature and humidity, a human could survive
five or six days without water, maybe a day or two longer in
extraordinary circumstances. We can go much longer without food – even
up to three months if that person is taking liquids fortified with
vitamins and electrolytes......................................................................................................................

One yogi was advertised that his pee will burn light and he was the greatest yogi.

That bast**d was eating tons of PeaNuts ( mumfali) and no drop of water, what you expect in his pee.
It is kind a similar crook's story.

This is true and it was on BBC. You can find the video on youtube. He is under supervision and haven't eat anything since then. Universe is lot stranger than we think, after all it is the creator of the consciousness that is wondering about its own creation.

I am a skeptic.  This could very well be a hoax.  Living without food for 70 years is simply impossible.  Maybe his definition of food is different.

70 years is a long time without food. So that part of the claim on whether it is true or false can be a separate debate.

My curiosity has been aroused by the other side of the story. If you actually read the whole story (more than what is just here in sajha), Indian military scientists had this yogi under scientific observation for 15 days during which the yogi didn't eat or drink, although he is said to have come into contact with water during his (frequent? I think one story said, "yes, frequent!") bath and gargled. His vital processes didn't even budge a bit.  And these scientists are the same guys who successfully landed a water mapping satellite on the moon may be a year or so ago.

I hope they will soon publicize their findings of the 15 days and we get to go through the data collected! There has to be an energy source that the yogi is utilizing and the data will tell us if the CCTV monitoring the yogi was dysfunctional for short period of time, may be each day!
