has anyone gone from f1 to h4 to f1?? my question is my wife used to go to this uni and she dropped out and hasnt paid some balance there....now she is on h4 visa....they are holding her sevis and will not let her transfer...she wants to join new program and wants to go on F1 for on campus jobs ans she is wondering if they can issuse her a new 120 with new sevis or something...she doesnt want to pay her old school as she doesnt want anything to do with that uni as she claims she faced some hardships with some professors.... Can anyone suggest her a way out

It is impossible. She cannot study at all until the SEVIS gets transferred. That is the problem of being foreign citizen here. Talk to college, if there is any way they can reimburse her tuition fee by any process by appeal or other means. Otherwise, it is not possible without paying the amount to school. If she is in H4 now, the university has to issue her new I-20. They don't do it until she clears everything with her old university. It is wise for you to talk to the right department and person in the university. Sometimes, they might waive the tuition fee, if you have valid and strong reason.

She should have consulted with her advisor if she had a hard time with the professor, there is no way she can avoid the charges, so best thing would be to pay the amount to avoid gettting her Sevis transferred on time
