Personally, I have got the mixed feelings. I am happy in a sense; I have got lots of friend who are ready to help me in any difficulties. I get to have lots of fun. There is a cold beer on the freeze to cool be down, when I have a problem with my girlfriend. I can party whole night without any obligation. But, on the other side my future is not certain, my job after graduation is not guaranteed, can’t go to Nepal, I don’t know when I am going to get married and have kids. This brings a kind of frustration sometime. How about you guys?

The difference between you and me is: I did not have a freeze in my room and nor a girlfriend to heat me up! I then did not need a beer either. Otherwise, been there in your shoe!

When you feel your future is not secure, sometimes that's the best thing to have in life, although it's an irony. It automatically trains you for all eventualities. Best of luck!

Is there any software or even a scientific instrument to measure my happiness? Or even a form or bunch of questions that I can answer and calculate my total happiness?.....

I remember one of my professor @ UTA...he gave me a formula to be happy. It is derived from simple Efficeincy formula, which is Efficiency = Output/Input times 100% ( we all know efficiency is never 100%)

So now Compare Efficiency with Happiness,

Happiness = total wishes/desires achieved or fullfilled divided by  total no of wihes/desires times 100%.

We all know what happens if we keep the denominator less and when

denominator (total no of wishes/desires) tends to zero or as it approaches towards zero, Happiness tends to reach Infinity,

Wildman....keep your number of expectations as low as you can. You are expecting too much from life....many times happiness comes from giving others, rather than asking or taking away from others

"khoj chan sabaie sukha, sukha vhani,

teyo kaha cha"

"afue mitaie aru li dinue ma jaha cha"

"hata ko maila...suna ko thaila"

"kay garnue dhana lay"

"saga ra sisnue khaya ko"

"baysa anandi mana lay".....

what do you mean happy with student life in America???  are you happy to be in nepal?  we dont need no more philosophical answer....just tell me straight, are you happy to be in nepal?

a hard working student can always be happy no matter where he is. When I was a student in US, i had loans, I was still happy since I had As on all my subjects. a loser can't be happy anywhere.

Wildman, I thought you were talking in general. Don't worry man. Just keep your head up and do your thing. Something will work out for you.

If one is trying to compare ones happiness with someone else, this is not a valid comparison and will never yield any useful results.

Happiness can never be measured by comparing with others, you are happy to have a grilfriend and a cold beer,
i am happy not to have a grilfriend or a cold beer,

you dont have a set future which makes it possible for you to work on realizing the craziest of your dreams,

ps: i totally agaree with Stupida

Thanks to all the guys for putting in your words. I was kind of talking in general and unfotunately it applies to me as well. The situation we are in right now is quite difficult I guess. Getting a job after graduation is like getting admission in MIT. Going back home makes us think twice due to our political situation over there. For many of us H1 has become like a nightmere. I am not being that pessimist though, but the reality is just around us....so i wish you all guys good luck and wish me too, because I need that....I have got good GPA..and when I apply for an internship...only the reason I get kicked out is,I am not the American citizen....
