Most people do not care about their reputation neither are they patriotic. They are only "thugs" who want to cheat other people and organizations. We have become more violent, unruly and disobey the law. Where is once the reputed, peaceful and beautiful Nepal? Dissapeared into thin air, by whom? The answer is: We the people of Nepal. Lets all try to improve Nepal, A prayer for all- a prayer for Nepal: http://hubpages.com/hub/A-prayer-for-all

When is this gonna stop. Man Nepalese identity is in bad shape. Stupid morrons. How is the pocketless uniform gonna stop the bribe when the bribery is in the pocket of their mind?

It is shameful to the people who are running the country not to the rest of the Nepalese. No pocket No bribe - policy may not be so effective but at least they are showing initiative. But what CIAA needs to do is to hire a large number of under-cover officers who will perform Sting Operations in every possible government offices. Once caught red-handed they should be shackled and detained in Hanuman Dhoka and fast track-trialed and sent to Dilli Bazar. Only doing so will instill fear in the wanna-be bribe-giver and bribe receiver.

K ko beijjat. At least government over in Nepal is trying to curb corruption. The scale of corruption that goes on in the West is even greater. Just take the example of MP expense scandal in UK and the scale of deciet I myself have seen that goes on at the higher level here in UK is so ludicrous that the small scale corruption in Nepal is no match. Others include Madoff, Stanford scandal. Its true that the corruption does not occur at all levels in West but where it does that is 1million times the size of Nepalese corruption. The recent collapse of so many institutions are clear examples. Did you not witness the forgery and false information input by the brokers when preparing documents to get mortgage? Well I did and the scale was so large that they are now clamping down on it. The same is happening in Nepal with the airport staff.

TIA is the worst place same like Birgunj Bhansar. Police or any officer pay big bundle of commission under the table to be posted there. i like the decision of pocketless dress in TIA. this might not stop the whole lot of bribary but will reduce at some. The one who was benefitted with his pocket, might oppose it. It's no brainer to understand.

I think it is a positive way anyway the pocketless uniform in airport, atleast to make the custom officials feel ashamed, that is if they have any shame.

How about the politicians? We know most of them are corrupt. They should be banned from wearing clothes altogether.

I know these airport employees are thieves. I was asked for a $20 bribe for clearing my mere digital camera back in 1998. I wanted to pay the legal custom taxes but the officer was reluctant about going legally, he said " if you pay me $20 you can get out of here in 10 minutes and if you go through legal route you will stay here for more hours and may even need to come back to collect your camera" I paid him $20 and he put that bill in his pocket Shamelessly. Coming back to the point. The pocket less uniform is not going to stop them from stealing, they may hide the bills in their ass...who knows....but it does demoralizes these thieves and makes a statement about their behavior at the same time. they should ban to wear underwear too...cuz they will start hiding the money in there.......oh yes and the socks...the best place to hide......and provide them dress without any "chor-goji"....do you know what i mean.... but now things changed so they will keep a plastic bag right on the table. its nepal, the land of no law, BTW i had to bribe $100 for not having our marriage certificate when we were leaving kathmandu.....for US.

Why can't TIA install security cameras at key locations? surely TIA collects huge revenue from people going in and out of Nepal. I remember I paid around Rs 5,000 when I was leaving out of Nepal each time.

कत्रो बेइजत AGAIN.... http://telegraphnepal.com/news_det.php?news_id=5709 ‘PM Nepal asked Menon to arrange Indian scholarship for his daughter’ बेइजत TGW What primarily transpired between the Prime Minister of Nepal and Mr Shiva Shankar Menon during his last trip to Kathmandu (June 20-21, 2009) could be a matter of curiosity for all the Nepali citizens. Here is just an excerpt of communication between the two. Immediately after his arrival in Kathmandu, the Indian foreign secretary met with the Prime Minister of Nepal, Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal. Mr. Menon got stunned when the Nepal Prime Minister first told the visiting Indian secretary that his daughter Ms. Suman Nepal has the inner penchant to accomplish her MD degree at the AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi). Ms. Nepal was awarded free scholarship by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to accomplish her MBBS studies at the AIIMS. She recently returned home completing her education at one of the best medical schools in South Asia. “The Prime Minister repeatedly asked the Indian foreign secretary if such an arrangement could be made for his daughter”, writes Tarun vernacular weekly, June 29, 2009. Menon was pretty annoyed that the Nepal PM was concentrating on something irrelevant and not talking on issues of Indian interests. “The Indian foreign secretary advised his one of the aides to talk to the Indian Embassy immediately”, writes Tarun. “She does not meet the required criteria”, replied the aide adding “thus her application could not be processed”. How a “father” who is anxious for his “daughter” so much could have told Menon that the Indian side has encroached upon Nepali lands? Mother Nepal has reasons to weep. 2009-06-29 09:07:09 Comments (8) No wonder King Gyanendra did not award him the PMship despite his application. However, I know cases of GPK, LBC and SBDeupa who under the capacity of PM have litterally begs indian establishment for scholarship for their kin and kith. Maoist also did the same as well. Om Shanti. Kaplivastu, nepal
Commented by Om Shanti Nepal - June 30, 2009 @ 6:56 AM aslpl is correct. MaKuNay also used his connection to get his daughter's MBBS seat at the Indian Embassy. I know that for sure. I think his current mentality is "Using power for personal benefits while it lasts for some more weeks"
Commented by Mahesh - June 30, 2009 @ 12:55 AM total made-up story. did the reporter have telepathy to listen on the conversation?
Commented by aslpl - June 29, 2009 @ 5:16 PM "Ms. Nepal was awarded free scholarship by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to accomplish her MBBS studies at the AIIMS." This is bogus reporting. This scholarship was stolen as well. The topper at Indian Embassy gets this scholarship to AIMS and i am "barai ana" sure she was not topper.
Commented by Nir - June 29, 2009 @ 2:47 PM Oh Please, this must be a wrong reporting...I know this PM is stupid but he shouldn't be that lame.
Commented by robin - June 29, 2009 @ 8:04 AM What do you from someone expect who is IA pass?
Commented by Raja - June 29, 2009 @ 7:10 AM If this news is true, it will not be give good messase to Indian government. How PM is concerntrating the family atmosphere than national issue. But it might be not appropritate b y media. But any way Nepal has broad vision I did not believe he was concentrating to his own prosperity.
Commented by Karan - June 29, 2009 @ 2:25 AM ha ha ha, why he needs scholarship now for his daughter? What will happen to all the money he will earn through corruption? IT could be a trick to impress the people by hinting that he is corruption free. IT is really sad and funny what my motherland has come to. Now i sincerely request His Majesty to act ASAP to safeguard Nepal from these goons. And these are supposed to be the ministers of so called New Nepal. Shocking!
Commented by Raj - June 28, 2009 @ 11:32 PM
