the_hareeb bro, STEM extension needs e-verify, I am sure. I think your company need to be e-verified in OPT ( 1 year) period also. Not quite sure, rules keep on changing. As, you can work volunteer job if you can't find job in 3 month also. I suggest you to consult you ISS office. Be sure, important business !!!!!

hareeb bro,
previously all the graduating students were allowed 12 months of OPT, but recently they changed this law and So the new law states that if u are one of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) student, you are allowed to extend your OPT for additional 17 months which means you can get upto 29 months of OPT period and that allows you to apply more than once for H1 incase u become unlucky for the first time as is the case there have been more applicants than the allocated quota for H1......
but if you get your H1 on first attempt you don't need to apply for extension. And that extension is only for those who have one of STEM degrees....

this freaking sucks... from that website "The more businesses that join this program, the more illegal aliens who
will voluntarily go back to their home countries. More than 200,000
long-time settled illegal aliens in this country already leave the U.S.
each year because the tiny bit of enforcement now in place makes their
lives too uncomfortable. Imagine how many more will leave as fewer and
fewer businesses are available to hire them."

maile bujhe anusar ta any company can register for e-verify as long as they follow certain rules. I think they do not have to be pre-approved companies. If it is a small company, it would probably be better asking them to visit http://www.dhs.gov/xprevprot/programs/gc_1185221678150.shtm to register in the program.
Mero case ta.. I am out of luck. I graduated with a Health Promotion degree (Bachelor of Science). I didn't even think that it would not fall in STEM program. When I inquired about OPT extension with my ISS advisor, she told me that Health Promotion is not under STEM. I asked her, "Health Promotion, Clinical track is pre-med, who are future doctors, if you are telling me that pre-meds are not under science, who can be under science?". She answered, "You have got the point. But Health Promotion is not under the majors USCIS has provided us at this current time. If there are any changes, we'll let you know. We are busy with current students, we don't have time to deal with the graduate students' problems." I said thanks and hung up.

thanks XxJamesXx for the clarification..My company is Express Scripts..It is one of the fortune 500's. I assume it is e-verified right?
What are the chances of me getting H-1 through this lottery system? Is it pretty dim?
