1974 A.D. is one of the best. There are many which are equally good!

1974 AD is a pin-up band. They suck! Some of the band-members are not band as far as their musical talents go but they make music only to sell it. Nepathya, on the other hand, make music from their heart. Take the song Ghatana for example. Simply brilliant.

Mukti and Revial for its live performances (The guys previously called Newas were really rocking the Thamel scene back in the early 90s). Their distinct 70's hard rock/blues sound is a treat when I'm in a mood for something rockin'-loud yet melodious! But, unfortunately Nepathya takes the cake as being the best Nepali band as it has been able to evolve its music with the times. And whats more, its done so much by raising awareness into traditional Nepali literature/customs/folk-songs that all other bands have ignored so far (Bheda ko oon album). Nepathya for ANA 2008!!!

J-2302, Crossroads are the grand-daddies of Nepai rock...The pioneers! I loved thier first album (went on a descending path after that). All the songs are classics and I knew the words to it all back then. However, their live performance sucked big time. Sanjaya Shrestha looked like his shoes were nailed to the stage floor and he always seemed a lil nervous/uneasy on stage. However, they are legenes in the filed of Nepali Rock. Influence was alright...nothing unique or great about them. And lurey, Bhim Tuladhar is "nepal's greatest singer??" If so, then I'm Jim Morrison!! The guy's decent. 1974AD has been too commercialized and heavily promoted because of the influence the band members hold among the Ktm elite. Whereas, Robin n Looza (now the Revolution)are a great band composing great music with mediocre lyrics (thanks to Robin's poor command of the Nepali language).
