A friend of mine is travelling from Shanghai to Kathmandu. Does anyone have any idea around how much is the roundtrip fare in US $? Is RNAC the only airlines that flies that route? Can I buy the ticket for him here in the US using a credit card? Or does it have to be bought at a RNAC counter in Shanghai or Kathmandu? Thanks

Hello,
I do not think you can buy ticket here in United States. Please call RNAC Shanghai office in this number + 86-21-32140717 for more information. If u need more information, please contact me..

NA, (no more Royal Nepal airlines? It’s NEPAL AIRNINES) Kathmandu-Shanghai-Osaka flight is very good and punctual. I personally traveled shanghai couple times by RNAC.

As much as I want to be proud of our national carrier, I cannot neglect the truth. Nepal Airlines is unreliable in general. Their staff might be great and everything but they are horrible at handling unplanned events. Their planes are old, they might be safe to fly, but that does not rule out the fact that they need frequent repairs. And when the circumstance goes out of hand, they make themselves unavailable rather than consoling the passenger and making sure they have arrangements to get them comfortably to where they were originally meant to go.

The CAA needs to fine these airlines for ignoring paying passengers. When flights are delayed by more than a day, passengers should be compensated because a lot of them are usually on time-sensitive errands.

I don't get why Nepal Airlines has not sorted itself out after all the criticisms it has been receiving for its poor customer handling.

I would avoid Nepal Airlines (erstwhile RNAC) like a plague. Fly another airline, even if your ticket costs few hundred dollars more and few more hours are added in your itinerary. It is sad, but true.
