Now that there are possibilities of Nepal having 4 international airports, will this change our economy? If I am not wrong, European and American flights are banned from flying into Nepal. Also, all of the Nepalese airlines are banned in European and American airspace. (I am assuming this will change after potential construction of the airports) 4 airports being: 1. TIA 2. Gautam Buddha Int. Airport 3. Pokhara Int Airport & 4. Nijgadh Int Airport. Is it viable for a country like Nepal to have 4 international airports that too within close proximity? I am assuming within 50-80 nautical miles apart.

New airports will surely increase the economy as it will create new employment opportunities in the community. There will be more revenue collected. However, the new airport in Bhairahawa will be turned into the third class level as TIA because of poor Nepali standard. What we need right now are schools of high quality all over Nepal where no child is left behind. All the street children in Kathmandu must be taken into consideration. Girls and children from poor socio-economic background must be given high priority for education. Sanskrit education must be compulsory and should be started from early childhood. Ku-Sanskar le Nepal bigriyo. We must now invest in little kids. They are the future of Nepal. All other things should be of secondary priority. Until and unless the collective consciousness of Nepal is raised to a higher level, building airports, trains, roads, etc have little or no value.

ujl, I like your input. But I thought airport in Bhairahawa will meet international standard with ground radar and all. I am really excited for Nijgadh airport though. The blue print of that airport looks amazing. Well good economy will bring more funds, more funds = more money towards education. So!! I don't think Nepal landscape is designed for trains though.
