Hello IT folks on Sajha - need to get your expert advise please: I am not from IT background but want to come into IT and specifically into Business Intelligence. I have been looking into Cognos BI and SQL BI. Any suggestions which BI to choose in terms of job scope, sustainability (how easy/difficult to perform in the real world for a non technical background...because you have to think about not just finding work but also surviving in the work), and salary? Would greatly appreciate any inputs. Thanks.

Cognos BI fetch the data elements through SQL commands itself. If you know intricate details on how to use, manipulate and call different tables and data feeds using SQL you can very well use Cognos BI. Just a matter of getting acquainted with the tool. On the other hand SQL queries are more foundational.
