One of my friends is planning to apply for PhD in Sociology for Fall'15 from Nepal. He has a Master's degree (same majors) + GRE + Toefl. I'm trying to give him logical suggestion (list of schools) and looking for the same here from Sajha community. Please provide your suggestions/infos/ideas based on experience and knowledge. Thank you !

Tell your friend not to ruin his life doing Ph.D. in Sociology in USA. This will be his biggest disaster in his life. Ph.D. in Sociology ? from USA ? Seriously? He must be kidding.

I can see where all these questions are coming from !! As for now, I'll leave them for him to answer and decide. Having said that, let's also hear it from someone with the first hand experience - someone who has been/ is in his shoes.
