This happened to me at Jackson, MS Application Support Center. Had a appointment for biometrics fingerprinting. Drove 3 hours to get there but all I took as a photo identification was my drivers license which is valid. But this lady asks for a passport and rejects my appointment. Is it normal? while the notice clearly states that I can take passport , or drivers license, she was not happy as I skipped the passport part. Since I got my drivers license, I have used it as a photo identification anywhere from clubs to airports, but I dont know why this particular office does not accept it. While calling the USCIS customer service, they say that the drivers license should be a valid ID but this office does not give a damn about it. Any experience?

Mr. D. Sorry to hear that. You were half prepared. You should have carried all identifications you owned. It would not hurt you to carry passport, SSN card, I-94 whatever you had. I hope you have given next appointment. By the way, in my appointment, I presented notice and driver's ID but in case I had passport too. Good luck

Well, you should have spoken loud and clear. She must be in bad mood. Happens.

It has happened to me while entering in a National Lab. Though I had submitted all my credentials including passport and visa inforamtion for prior background check they didn't let me in without passport. Luckily my apt was few minutes away from the lab. And the worst thing was American were allowed with the same driving licence and not the foreigners. Didn't make sense to me. But, it seems they wrote that clearly in the website so couldn't argue with them.

Can you tell if your biometrics was for naturalization or GC or anything else ? For naturalization applicants, they require GC. Driver's license was not accepted for my room mate.

I think she was just being difficult. i went to dallas application center. she preferred driver's license over passport. There should be a way to report that. If you have had your biometrics taken, they let you fill out a survey before you leave, not sure if you could have filled that out since your biometrics was not taken.

Everyone, thanks for your input.. @alche, You are right, she was definitely being difficult. Looked like she already a bad day before she even started talking to me. I asked for her name and she denied to identify herself stating that it was unnecessary. I know that we are allowed to ask name and badge for most of the federal employee, dont know if it applies to USCIS people too. I looked for it but can't find anyway to report that, and this place has never provided after survey thing at least for anybody of us here.

you should not have left until you got her name and badge id. you should have demanded to talk to her supervisor. i dont know why we get so timid and scared of these people. yes we look different and may have accent but legally we have the same rights as permanent residents and naturalized citizens. if you do not want this to happen to yourself or some other fellow nepali, please do everything you can to contact USCIS and report this issue. they did it to you, it will happen to someone else if you dont take action.

@Kaji sahab, I got the same kind of feeling like you, and I asked more than five times that day, but she refused to give it at all. I tried to look at her ID that she was wearing but it was turned over so cant see anything. I called USCIS, but they told me that since Application Support Centers are kind of separate offices and dont take orders from USCIS, so they can't do anything. I think I know her name anyway, but there is nowhere to complain. I think that Application Support Centers comes under Homeland Security Department so maybe I should try there.

कहिँ over confidence नतिजा त हैन : What if , DL ले मानेन भने के हो त दोश्रो option ? लौ भाग्य को खेल हो भनौ अब , जसलाई जहा ले लेखेको छ तेसतई सोच बिचार उत्पन्न हुन्छन रे ? तपाइलाइ पनि तेस्तै भएको हो ?
