Hi All !!

Would you please shed some lights , or provide  me regarding  migrate to Canada as a  federal Skilled Worker.  I tried myself getting some information online,  but would like add some more. My Questions are:

1. What are the procedures, how tedious it is? in general

2. How long does it take to process and get PR, if Everything Works out smoothly? As per CIC website 12-18 months but I would like to hear cases from sajha user.

3. Applyiny Self, or through  Canadian immigration Consultancy? Which one would the better interms of filling the necessary application form. Is  application form is self explanatory? Would like hear case from one who has gone through this situation.

I am recently done with my Master  in Information technology from one the  US university. And i beleive I fall under Occupation List (2174)   Computer programmers and interactive media developers. Are there any other ways to migrate to canada as PR?  doesn't have to be under federal Skilled worker. Looking forward to hear from one which had applied as a Federal Skilled Worker,  or has  gone through this situiation, please provide me with some information regarding your experience, knowledge. I am thinking applying one for myself.

Would really appriciate for your help.
Thanks in advance.

1. What are the procedures, how tedious it is? in general

>>> Its a lenghty process but a easy one if you have all the required documents. Same like applying visa to US. Gathering supporting documents and forms.

2. How long does it take to process and get PR, if Everything Works out smoothly? As per CIC website 12-18 months but I would like to hear cases from sajha user.

>>> Mine took around 14 months (from the day i filed the application to the day I landed).

3. Applyiny Self, or through  Canadian immigration Consultancy? Which one would the better interms of filling the necessary application form. Is  application form is self explanatory? Would like hear case from one who has gone through this situation.

>>> I believe that applying through consultancy is a waste of money. They are going to ask you for the same paper work that the government requires. They can't influence the government's decision. Yes, application form is self explanatory for a guy with Masters degree.

The best way to do it is to go to

If you are confused, which I was many times during the process, you can always get help from this forum. Expert advice. It saves lot of money and time.

Goodluck with the process.
