Please post the fabulous songs/sounds from the decade that are NOT cliche-numbers yet (may have been) under-rated or forgotten.
Here is my first one.
The artist did not score nearly half a dozen wives for nothing. Here is Rod Stewart singing '...Young Hearts will be free tonite..'. This one should suit since it's a long weekend.
Tears For Fears with their most popular song .. Everybody Wants to Rule The World... This used to be played a lot on Michael Chand's show "The Musical Hour" on Radio Nepal.
Great going, zaurav!! I like this song too and their other hits. Unfortunately, we didn't hear much from them after the girl took a break to make babies instead of making music.
hey hey TM ole pal! great thread bud. darn, how did i miss it? hehe
and dautari, kudos to you for playing some of the best numbers of that era. thanks man!
although not too much aware of the not-so-cliched (as in popularity) of the songs of 80s, this is one of the songs that reminds me of my very early childhood when i used to bully my cousin bro( although he is 4 yrs older than me hehe, naughty me as always:P). he was a big fan of this english band called 'tears for fears'.
enjoy this a very a popular number "everybody wants to rule the world" from the band...this song was featured in van kilmer's real genius. the guitar tune in the middle reminds me of sth. damn am getting nostagic hehe...
Dang! regular unleaded gas price was $1.45 during that time?. I would have broken up with the girl who lives at the other end of the town (as shown in Tears for Fears video) . LOL! I guess daylight savings time was already effective then. Sorry! got a little carried away. ;P.
I thought Wham was the Beatles during the mid 80s; loved all of their songs.
TM, please allow me to post a song from 70's (1976 to be precise), if you leave me now/ by chicago.....am thorougly nostalgic now......damnn!!!! this is taking me to the same darn juction when i actually had to leave someone...:((..... so heart-rending it was...sometimes i wonder, how they come up with song that suits so much to what you're going through actually. check it out by yourself:
If you leave me now, youll take away the biggest part of me No baby please dont go If you leave me now, youll take away the very heart of me No baby please dont go
A love like ours is love thats hard to find How could we let it slip away Weve come too far to leave it all behind How could we end it all this way When tomorrow comes well both regret Things we said today

Here is Air Supply with a refreshing number. BTW, it was also featured in the Brad and Angelina highly stylish extravaganza Mr. & Mrs Smith. Remember the scene where a bunch of shiny BMWs smash each other up during the car-chase gun battle and this song plays in the background providing a contrasting aura of roughly about 180 degrees :) with respect to the scene.
