The following report and pledge was received to Nepal Democracy Forum (google group) from one of it's member and a respected journalist in Kathmandu.

My blood is boiling with the report of the massacre of pro-democracy demonstrators by the regime.

I also feel a guilt as I have seen in the images of the protests comprising mostly youngsters from low and lower-middle class.

The rich class (except for the professional groups) are still in their baithak watching TV.

Let's open a "Sajha Fund for Loktantra-fighters" to help the victims of the regime's violence.

"Nepal Democracy Forum" has already discussed about it and I am sure they will immediately proceed. Most probably, a fund will be set up at NAC or other umbrella organizations.

We can contribute to that fund. But how about a Sajha fund ?

In the meantime, I also heard that Maoists have infiltrated the demonstrations. They have come from outside Kathmandu and have quickly gathered in Gongobu after getting off in the bus park.
What's going? Every one is responsible here. Maoists for infiltration with no regard to the danger they pose to the lives of innocent protestors, political leaders for not leading by example, and King for violent retaliation.

Yea, everyone is responsible - maoists, soldiers n' even the violent protestors throwing stones n' damaging property. But when fire happens, first thing is to extinguish fire rather than blaming who started fire. We like to do wrong things in time; blaming game when we need to act, and forgetting about punishing the culprit after the fire when it needs to be done.

GWAJYO HAS THE BRAIN OF A MONKEY. ANYONE WHO DOES NOT SUPPORT THEIR CAUSE IS AUTOMATICALLY A KING SUPPORTER. JUST SHOWS HOW CAPABLE YOU ARE TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.

I DO NOT SUPPORT THE KING(he'sbeen sitting on his fat fuking ass for more than a year now). I BLAME THE FUKING POLITICIANS FOR THE WHOLE MAO PROBLEM. THERE WAS NO MAOIST PROBLEM IN 1990, WHO BROUGHT THIS MAO PROBLEM ? PEOPLE WHO WERE IN POWER IN THE MID 90's.

Can't you see with your eyes (full of shit in your own language) that your other master is quoted (foreign name)?

You won't trust nepali media even if you see the real video or pictures of evidence, and will try to blame saying it's some photo editing works.

I always agree parties are to be blamed too. But that doesn't let you to justify KG's action. Why do you need to blame only when someone start blaming KG? That made me think that you're simply trying to justify his actions, and digress from the topic by showing wrong deeds of parties.

Bathroom,

believe it or not, but only for you and Dadagiri link is posted here (you might have read the messages posted already by someone):

Dada Giri,

If amry shoots your father or mother or brothers or whoever when they were walking on the street. What do you do? Do you let them die? One has not necessarily be a protestor (pro-democrat) to get a gun shot. and Nepe was talking about helping those known or unknown but poor Nepali who need treatments now. How come you see "investment" here from USA? Raja ka chamchha haruko kahile bata reality bujhna thalne hun kunni?

No I Blame the fuking king too. In the begining I did support his move to bring stability to the country(although I was not sure what exactly he was going to do). But after a year and half HE HAS DONE NOTHING BUT CAUSE MORE PROBLEMS.

EVERYONE THAT CAME INTO LIMELIGHT TO SOLVE PROBLEM IN NEPAL HAS TURNED UP OTHERWISE. THAT IS WHY I DO NOT SUPPORT ANYONE. I DON"T TRUST THE KING< THE REPUBLICAN MOVEMENT, THE FUKING POLITICIANS, OR THE FUKING MAOS. EVERYONE IS GUILTY HERE.

PEOPLE HERE ARE JUST PLAYING THE BLAME AGME. Raja ley yesto garyo, Girija ley usto garyo, Mao ley yesto garyo. I don't see thi s solving any problem . But create more confusion and kaos.

I agree that it created more confusion and there's no immediate solution. But at least, I'm clear in one thing, king must step down if not go.

It seems that they fired hundreds of bullets in gongabu.

****
Troops baton charged, tear gassed, fired rubber bullets and then live rounds to disperse more than 500 slogan-shouting demonstrators in the Kathmandu suburb of Gongabu, wounding about 100 protesters, a Reuters reporter at the scene said.

It was the first time troops opened fire in the capital during the latest anti-king campaign. Emergency medical workers said several among the 100 wounded had sustained bullet injuries .

As sad as it may sound, the protestors apparently tried to put DSP's house in fire. So tell me what do you expect in return? Gallons and gallons of kerosine aid?
Try doing that in America. You will get a shot-gun bullet through your head.
And here we are talking about anarchy. Protestors should learn to protest. Where is the peaceful protest? Where?

According to the BBC Nepali Service, there was indiscriminate firing in Gongabu against peaceful protestors. We must not led those uniform-wearning gundas get away with their crimes. Sure they are the laws now but for how long?

We need to compile pictures and videos of all those, so called police and security officers who are committing crimes against unarmed protestors so that they can be dealt with appropriately in the future.

:-
The sixth day of a general strike called by political parties saw three protesters hurt in clashes at Gangabu, a Kathmandu suburb that has seen violent clashes in recent days. Human rights groups said police fired more than 100 rounds.

“In addition to the use of tear gas and rubber bullets, deadly force has been used on a few occasions,” the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights said. The UN body said police had been seen attacking bystanders, including women and children, charging into houses, engaging in indiscriminate beatings and causing damage to property.

The European Union on Tuesday urged King Gyanendra, who seized absolute power in February 2005, to take urgent action to restore democracy and open a dialogue with Nepal’s political parties. The call came a day after the US dismissed the 14 months of King Gyanendra’s direct rule as a “failure in every regard” and asked him to “immediately” restore democracy. “It is time the King recognises that this is the best way to deal with the Maoist insurgency and to return peace and prosperity to Nepal,” the US State Department statement said.

At least three people were hurt in Kirtipur on the southern reaches of the capital when police moved in to disperse peaceful protesters defying the increasingly restrictive curfew imposed by the royal palace. Two more were injured when police fired at a rally of about 10,000 people at Pokhara, a tourist centre about 200km west of the capital, where King Gyanendra has been residing for the past few weeks.

There is now a five-hour daytime curfew in Kathmandu as well as a 10pm-4am curfew. Pokhara and Banepa, a town about 150km south of Kathmandu, were also under day-long curfews.

Kamal Thapa, Nepal’s home minister, defended the crackdowns, saying the government had “reliable” information Maoists rebels had infiltrated the protests and planned to grab state power.

Kathmandu has had several thousand soldiers, paramilitary and policemen on the streets since Thursday, when the protests began, and independent television stations show daily footage of police using brutal force against protesters and bystanders. Three people have been killed and more than 2,300 have been arrested. The OHCHR said more than 1,300 people, including eight political and civil society leaders arrested in January, remained in detention
