गत फेब्रुअरीमा न्यु योर्कमा अबस्थित UN को भवनमा पुग्दा त्यहा रखिएको नेपालको झन्डाको बिजोक देख्दा मन सर्है खिन्न भयो (हेर्नुहोस् फोटो) । अरु सबै झन्डा फर्फराएको छ भने नेपालको झन्डा भने अल्झिएको र च्यपिएको छ। सयौ झन्डाहरुको माझ फर्फराउन नसकेको नेपालको झन्डा भेट्नलाई त्यसैले पनि धौ धौ परेको थियो। फर्फरउन नसकेको झन्डा आँफैमा सन्केतिक थियो। तर फर्फराउन नसकेको खास करण भने नेपालको झन्डाको आफ्नै आकर नै हो। नयाँ नेपालको सुरुवत संगै नेपालको झन्डामा पनि केही परिवर्तन ल्याउने हो कि?
नेपाली भएको नातले मलाई आफ्नो राष्ट्रिय झन्डा सर्है माया लाग्छ। तर किन हाम्रो झन्डा मात्र अरुको भन्दा नितन्त फरक? अहिलेको झन्डाको आकरलाई निलो पृष्‍ठभुमिको चतुर्भुज भित्र राख्ने हो भने हाम्रो झन्डा अरु झन्डाको आकरसँग मिल्दो पनि देखिन्छ र अरु झन्डासंगै सधैं फर्फराइ
रहन्छ।

I can't agree with the concept of changing structure of the flag of our country. Being a patriotic nepali, I too love our flag very much and of course, whoever sees such conditon of flag in UN or anywhere feel bad. About the flag structure, it is not that we need to change. Because of our unique structure of the flag in the world only we are proud among other countries of our flag. The structure has also lots of importance from the nation point of view. For instance, it is said that because of having many high mountains in the country, the flag is designed in such way giving the shape of the mountain. We should really be pround of it guys.

Lets change name of Nepal dude...as Nepal everyone wants change currently....national anthem changed...political system is about to change....everyone is in a mood of change ...lets just change the name of the country.

There is nothing wrong with our flag.  It is unique and  above all, it is BEAUTIFUL !  I love it !!  Change your attitude dude !!!

Proud to be a Nepali !

While Nepali flag is unique in shape and does draw peoples attention around the world once in a while, I really don't believe there is anything unique in substance. Nothing to be proud of it just for looking different unless there is a any historical/cultural connection to this, that we can communicate to the world through its uniqueness in shape. I also believe its good idea to change the flag with an imprint that reflects the things that our nation is known for and proud of - such as mount everest. National symbols such as flags are not changed very often but given where we stand today as a nation, now is the historical opportunity to make that change.

Thank you for your kind words.., that sort of tells me who I'm talking to  but why do you resit the idea of change ? I wish to see your opinion on why we should not.

Aavari, We prolly wanna keep the flag the same as it is now!! I don't think there are any valid reasons to change the flag anyway. As Nepal premi said above, the way it is right now gives the impression of the flag being "designed in such way giving the shape of the mountain"

Nepali flag is great and ok. No need to change.
