Toyota is the world's most profitable company and it ranks among top 10 on forbes global list of companies while Honda ranks as 27th I think! Toyota is expected to overshadow GMC as the World's Largest car manufacturer by 2009! Both are good and it doesn't surprise me that smarties like us opt for a Japanese make rather than a fake American one! Japanese bhaye pachi, durable , reliable huncha ...just like a Japanese Wife. and in contrast, American bhaye pachi exactly opposite, unreliable, tadak bhadak..... tara you can't expect it to keep working!

honda offers bang for the bucks. They have redesigned their economy models in 2006. however you'll have to spend couple of thousands more for honda than toyota. Both company offers cars which are good in gas mileage. Go for something like civic or corolla, again money matters, however i would not recommend the economy model 'yaris' of toyota. Used cars are an alternative if you can't afford new ones.

I'd go for Honda anytime. Toyota is pretty good, but I recommend not to buy the Camry - I heard they have major transmission problems. Bottom line, Honda is the best!

Both good and great cars. I wanted to get a honda but they put me in a 3 month long waiting list. Then I changed my mind to get a toyota. I am fully satisfied so far with my toyota, have put 5000 miles on it. I spent some time to research Honda vs Toyota, that tells the following. Honda has a bit noisy engine and the vehicle vibrates more in highways compared to Toyota. Lightweight hondas (the economy models like civic, fit ) have more stability problem particularly while driving in windy and inclement weathers. Honda has better mileage, cheaper price and slightly more durable transmission than toyota. Toyota runs smoother and good pickup, torque etc. so its easier to control while you drive (this is what you get at the cost of low mileage). Also, toyota needs shorter warming up time and performs better if you ride in the roads that has a lot of stop and go. Toyota can't compete with Honda for durability if you compare until the end of your car's life. Most Honda run up to 280K with the factory-built transmission (if you maintain it properly) but Toyota can go only up to 230-240K at their best. Both of them are far better than most american cars which needs repair or replace of transmission after 100K. The metal sheet and paint of toyota is of better quality than honda. Honda builds rust faster than Toyota. Interior of Honda is more fancy than Toyota. Although Honda has cheaper price tags, they might turn to be expensive than toyota in the end because most honda dealers charge some extra fee which is waived for toyota because the manufacturer pays that fee to the dealers. Choice is yours, no specific recommendation to select honda or toyota.

I guess Honda is the best one. I bought a CIVIC last summer and still i haven't had any problem with it. I just love the car and it loves me too. If Anyone is looking for a HONDA and needs a sporty look buy a HONDA CIVIC.

I think Honda's better Really Honda would be better off trying out a variety of models like Toyota always do For Toyota they have a huge range of choices for SUV's, Trucks and even sedans( large and small) If Honda can get more models on the market ..they might do better business than toyota .. nyway toyota's sale may be higher buy Honda's better ..no wonder they have very high relaibilty ..and demand for used Honda's far eclipses toyota's by the way my sentra rocks too!!!!!!!!!!!

Based on reports, Hondas have the BEST reliability and BEST resale value. Further they don't look boring as Toyota Models(of course before the Camry Redesign). Toyota Camry is for older people, and that's the general public perception. (That's why they created Scion) Nissan targets the younger buyers, and their reliability is pretty good also. Honda lies somewhere in between these two giants. Someone had a bad luck with Honda doesn't mean that all Hondas are bad. But that also depends on the plant they are manufactured on. An "A" plant may have better reliability than "B" plant of the same company. If you're buying a used car, then look at these reliability ratings: - http://autos.msn.com/home/reliability_ratings.aspx
