Dear Friends, As you have heard earlier, we engineers in USA would like to initiate a non-profit, non-political and pure technical professional organization, we are watiting patiently for your responses. Please give us some portion of your valuable time to suggest us about the upcoming organization. Its obvious that we are bound with so many personal burdens due to tough life, however, its the time to gather our strengths, get united and do something for the land we were born. Furthermore, its the time for us to be updated with the recent changes in the engineering field. So, please do not hesitate to put forward your ideas, views and suggestions. Your advice will play a vital role in determining the goals and objectives of the organization.

Appeal to Nepalese Engineers in the United States It has been felt for the need of a professional organization in the field of engineering for the Nepalese engineers residing in the United States of America and other parts of the world. Documented below are some of the future objectives of upcoming organization. These goals we believe are what encompass what is needed to enrich the growing engineering environment. 1. Networking: To bring unity among Nepalese engineers and create a generalized database. 2. Empowerment: To empower the engineers with a sense of social responsibility and to practice & exercise advance technology by seminars and workshops. 3. Advocacy: To advocate during the government (focused to Nepal only) policy making in development fields 4. Communication: To encourage local, national, and international communication and collaboration; influence corporate and government policies and involvement; promote professional interaction and lifelong learning. 5. Awarding: To recognize outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations 6. Materialize: To encourage youth to pursue studies and careers in engineering and engineering technology; and counsel about the future prospectus like jobs and opportunities. 7. Mobilization: Mobilization of accessible engineering human resources resident in the US for purposes of technology transfer to Nepali institutions To realize its vision, new association will be devoting towards: - enhancement of services to its members - facilitation of productive collaborations among individuals, other professional bodies and government - increasing the participation groups in the engineering profession - promoting the value of the engineering profession to society We have forwarded a couple of possible title for the organization such as Nepalese Engineer’s Association in USA (NEAUSA) or Nepalese Society of Engineers in USA (NSEUSA). We request your views and suggestions. Your participation in this organization will be the road to success! Thank You

A high level of filtering is required. Now a days they have engineering title for everything: Sound engineer, security engineer. Is IT an engineering? I'd say if you have atleast 4 years bachelor degree in anything "engineering" then only u qualify as an engineer. So u r a software / computer engineer only if you have a degree in computer engineering.

In my opinion, everyone who had 4 yrs degree in engineering in UG level should generally be considered as an "engineer" ..regardless of masters degree ( for example many people prefer to get MBA after a UG degree in engineering)
