Gaule Hero's posting:- THIS IS THE CASE OF ROYALS BEHAVING BADLY. Traffic accidents and subsequent beatings used to be the trademark of PARAS "UDAY HUSSEIN" SHAH but looks like other royalists have imitated that tradition. The arguments from the MANDALE bros on this thread [don't want to name them 'cause they are so obvious] is that we should sympathize with "poor" Bharat Keshar and his gunda sons because they were "lynched" by a mob. Mandale bros are wrong again because they only see themselves as victims and forget that they are the victimizers. (1) The incident would not have happened if those guys had just ignored the little accident and proceeded to their cocktail party at the British Embassy. Instead they ended up beating a poor Sherpa. These guys still think they can break laws - like a feudal lord in the Middle Ages - and get away. (2) Second, even if it was Sherpa's fault [nobody knows unless you were at the scene] he does not deserve a beating, especially from someone driving a fancy car [or was it a SUV?]. IF OUR MANDALE FRIENDS WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE RULE OF LAW, THAT'S THE FIRST VIOLATION THERE. In which country does one gets beaten up for traffic accidents, except in Nepal involving royals and/or their chamchas? (3) The mob didn't lynch those gundas [lynching is beating and then hanging the body on a tree] but just participated in the brawl STARTED BY THE GUNDAS. Remember, first it was 3 people beating the Sherpa. When couple of hundreds arrived to support the Sherpa, the 3 people got beaten badly and deservedly so because they started the fight. WHY DON'T THE MANDALE TALK ABOUT 3 PEOPLE BEATING THE SHERPA AT THE FIRST INSTANCE? DO THEY THINK THAT'S OK? (4) What happened afterwards? The police inspector gets disciplined because he didn't arrive at the scene to protect the gundas from being beaten by the locals. Nobody talks about the police NOT arriving on time to protect the Sherpa from 3 gundas.

This from Kathmandu Post: Bharat Keshar episode: Angadawa receives death threat By Jitendra Sah KATHMANDU, June 23 - The main victim of the brawl between King Gyanendra's honorary ADC Bharat Keshar Singh and his sons, and local people at Lainchaur last Tuesday, Angdawa Sherpa has said that he has received death threats from Singh's men. "If he opens his mouth, we will finish him off," Sherpa quoted the unidentified men who relayed the threats through his close friends, "We are looking for him." "I have remained in my place at Jorpati for the fear of the threats," said 32-yr-old Sherpa, a climbing guide and trainer with the Himalayan Adventura, Durbar Marg. He is originally from Harisebagachol – 9, Khotang district. He also said that he has taken the situation seriously and would write an application to the Chief District Officer requesting security for his life and property. Meanwhile, Valley Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Deepak Thangden, has said that the Sherpa family was in regular contact with the police and that necessary security would be arranged. Earlier on Tuesday evening, irate locals of Lainchaur had beaten up Singh and his two sons in the scuffle that erupted after Singh's car hit Sherpa's motorcycle in front of Hotel Malla. The irate mass had also torched Singh's car. On Thursday, Sherpa, who claimed he was injured by the beatings of Singh, his sons and daughter-in-law, filed a complaint against the Singh family at the Sorhakhutte Ward Police Office. Saying that he was feeling dizzy, feverish and had throat problems after the incident, he also sought compensation and a public apology from the Singh family over the incident. According to Sherpa, Singh’s car, which was behind his bike stepped on his leg on Tuesday evening. "I was beaten up by the Singh family when I requested them to drive carefully," he said. Police Headquarters on Thursday formed a three-member committee headed by DIG Ravi Shrestha to investigate the incident. SSP Krishna Bahadur Rana of the Crime Investigation Department and SP Keshav Adhikari of the Valley Crime Branch are the members of the committee. The committee has been ordered to submit its report "at the earliest." Posted on: 2006-06-23 02:18:10 (Server Time)

lance dude ! whats all these got to do with democracy ? thsi event happened, and people reacted with a mob mentality, its not only in Nepal . Happens in UK, USa or any other country when the crowd is all hyped out and has a mass support. People cannot be democratic , the government has to be democratic and it has in this case. If Inspector Timilsina had not handcuffed Bharat Kesri and taken him to the station then the mob would have beaten him to death. I understand thats not a civilised way to behave but then Bharat Kesri and gang didn't behave properly at the first place.

Here are some more royalists behaving badly. Fresh news. Three Recalled Envoys Vanish Into Thin Air The Himalayan Times Online Kathmandu, July 14: Three Nepali ambassadors who were recalled by the government have not yet come in contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). The missing ambassadors are Prajwol Shumsher Rana who was serving in France, Rameshananda Vaidhya in Japan and Karna Dhoj Adhikary in India. The government recalled these ambassadors along with nine others, who were appointed by the previous Royal regime. "The ambassadors from Paris, Tokyo and New Delhi have not come in contact with the ministry, but we know they have left the respective embassies," confirmed MoFA spokesperson, Yadav Khanal. He added that there were vacancies for ambassadors in some 13 countries including Russia, United States, United Kingdom, France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Japan, India and China. Minister of Foreign Affairs, KP Oli has been saying time and again that the government will soon send envoys in those embassies and also take action against those who were recalled but did not return. However, officials say that there is no provision to take such action against those ambassadors. According to a provision stipulated in the new Regulation of the House of Representatives, the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee will have to approve the proposed ambassadorial candidates. Meanwhile, the special committee held its first meeting on Thursday and formed a three-member team to regularise the committee's working procedure. The four-man panel, including Pashupati Chaulagain, Baldev Sharma Majhghaiya and Dila Ram Acharya, will study the draft to be prepared by the Parliament Secretariat. The committee headed by MP Asta Laxmi Shakya will also have the responsibility to approve the names of judges selected for the Supreme Court, chiefs of constitutional bodies like Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), the Public Service Commission and the Election Commission. Since the special committee is a new practice in Nepal, the United States, where such parliamentary committees exist, has assured the special committee of helping it understand the US model. "We have found the US embassy keen to help us understand their model of Special Committee," Shakya, chairperson of the special committee said.
