Hey this is just my opinion and is not to cause a great outburst of anger among you people.

Nepal lies between two of the world's largest countries and emerging superpower. While
our nation is among the top ten poorest country in the world. And we Nepali are somewhat resonsible for it. Thererfore if given a choice, should NEPAL become part of China or part of India. Therefore ending Nepal rich independant sovereign state.

Hi AP98 i think you got a attitude problem dude.
anyway if my mum was to marry again, i would chose Chinese. you got a problem with that. That means i would want Nepal to become part of China. And we all would have a Chinese passport.
With that i don't need to explain to people where Nepal lies anymore after becoming part of People's Rebublic of China.

And by Nepal becoming part of China, the King and his families become an ordinary citizens therefore they too have to work.

Nepal then longer needs to depends on foreign aids which eventually ends up in current Nepali government pocket. People have jobs and no longer do they have to go abroad.

bornfree, that is still possible, theoritically, if China or India or both become parts of Nepal. then we will have republic set up, most diversified culture and our capital near the highest peak of the world, near the birth place of the Light of Asia.. sapanama...

BornFree.

I dont think you have a Nepali heart.

You are free to take other nationalities and stop worrying about nepal. Take PR and leave.Once you become another national , you dont have to worry about anything related to nepal. Hell, you can become an Indian rigth now also. Chinese, i dont think so.

As far as i am concerned i will Live a Nepali and I will die a Nepali. And if some jack ass passes some sort of questions like this, yes dude, i gotta attitude problem.

AP98 you the one who is selfish. who said i don't have a Nepali heart. Why i am bringing this topic is because majority of Nepalis are poor. Many are jobless. Many are still dependant on farming. Many children in Nepal who know's what futures for them.
To add to problem Maoist are destroying our ever peaceful nation. King wants to rule the country himself.
And to the insult, Nepalis leaders are fighting among themselves for the power.
And who suffers? People. Odinary citizens of Nepal.

So why should we care about being nepali when you have to live in nepal where there is no opportunity, suppress of freedom, and no one cares weather you live or die the next day.

And thinking about being patriotic, tell me why are you in not in Nepal?
Why do Nepalis like to go abroad and help other nations instead of Nepal?
Why are Nepalis DV crazed?
Why do abroad Nepalis do not want to return to Nepal after they have either finished studying or doing other stuffs?
Why are Nepalis scattered all around the world?

Is Nepalis being "kathay"? Do we have no place to call home?

The answer to solving nepals problems will not be by annexing it to china/india, common dude that way we will lose our identity, the very base that defines us, it's like saying " mero gharma ta babal problem cha yaar, aja dheki i'll stay in my neighbours home", or rather why don't my neighbor adopt me, we should not be even having this discussion,

common on sambhu. wake up man. how long can we wait before we see our motherland prosper. how long must we have to wait before all the problems in Nepal goes away.
when i stayed in nepal for 9 months, Julus, julus, and more julus not forgetting nepal bandh.
i didn't say that once we are annexed to China or India, we would lose our identitiy.
It's true we would have to learn new languages but it dosen't mean we have to lose our mother tongue.
and with China or Indian government taking over our government, all the nepal present leaders do not stand a chance of corrupting.
cooruption is one major factor that has eroded our society.

and the qoute you said " mero gharma ta babal problem cha yaar, aja dheki i'll stay in my neighbours home", or rather why don't my neighbor adopt me is really what happening dude.

let's face it man. all the nepalis abroad wants the citizenship of that country they are residing. and many more are leaving poor nepal and many wishes to.
before you know it, Nepal loses all of its able, brainy and wealthy people.

let's face it man. many nepalis are double-crosser. Given a chance many nepalis would change their citizenship without any doubt.

where else did you born, bornfree? it that Nepal? If you are born as a Nepali, keep some patience. This conflicts and fiersed situation inside the country will give birth good leaders who will solve it and then development is not far away. We are 20 million who can do a lot if situation favors.

See the small countries getting developed. Bhutan itself has come a long way. I heard that Thiland in some 30 years ago was as poor as Nepal. There are a lot of countries who made big progresses in short times.

you will see some working in constructing roads in people's participation in hilly reasons, some working in agriculture in plains and tarai, some working on promoting tourism, some building infrastructures and others. For this we also need good leaderships with time. You know India gave births to leaders like Mahatma Gandi only after some 300 years of oppressive states by British. If it takes bit more time before changes, it will be certainly better. We are a lot and you will certainly see a very wealthy Nepal, hopefully soon. Don't be hopeless, friend.

Bornfree

I would like to answer your problem, I would chose India. I read a book about China recently from that moment I am kinda afraid of what China might do to its own people and the world. I really do not like dictatorship or 1 party rule (without any accountability to people)

About the others who replied, if you do not like the question why don't u just keep quite and give all your valuable suggestions in other posts or start a new post. Thanks for reading.

bornfree,
Even though it is an unpatriotic, silly and hypothetical question, I am not sure why I am here. May be I see frustration in you that looms in most of us about the current turmoil.

Dont think that there is no corruption in India or China. They DO have corruption and their own set of problems.

> let's face it man. all the nepalis abroad wants the citizenship of that country they are >residing. and many more are leaving poor nepal and many wishes to.
>before you know it, Nepal loses all of its able, brainy and wealthy people.

This is true not only for Nepalis but for everyone that comes to the developed nations from underdeveloped nations. Dont blame your own kind for wanting to reside in a developed country where there are plentiful of economic opportunities. Once economic opportunities become available in Nepal you will see many people returning to Nepal. I know many who have moved back to their home countries after the economic opportunities become available in their homeland.

Changing citizenship does not change hearts. Nepal lives within us even though we are far away and even the piece of paper which claims your nationality changes but nothing can change our place of origin, not even the changed papers.

This discussion is a waste of time. bornfree, be optimistic man. the current situation of nepal is bad everybody knows about that. That doesn't mean we should lose our identity. Countries like Germany, Japan went through worse than ours in the world war 2. But the people had hope and determination, and now you can see for yourself. This discussion is really childish.

hey prosperity i didn't say we nepalis being forced into becoming indians or chinese.
i just say what if Nepal become part of China or India. Isn't that be great for our national economic.
Secondly i don't think you know the meaning of being poor. If you were poor i don't think you would have the time and source to discuss this debate.
Because i care for nepali people in nepal, because i care for nepal that i brought up this issues.

Lastly America do not have a single people who would proudly call themselves the real American. It is made up of many immigrants who build and shape this great land.

Think globally prosperity
