guyss i need your help, i am thinking of going to nepal and this expensive tickets freak me out, do u have any suggestions which airlines are cheaper?? and have good service??? does it cost around 1500 dollars for round trip???

i got the ticket for nepal last week for leaving after thanks giving day from JFK.. it cost me $1642 on gulf air... i got it from my local travel agency.. the nepali travel agents were charging me $1750 same ticket... yes.. its gonna cost a lot but cant complain.. going back home and spending time wit family n frens is priceless.. try ur local agency.. peace..

It really depends upon what time of the year you are planning to go. If you are thinking of winter around Dec-Jan and/or summer around Jun/Jul/Aug then certainly you need to pay more than 1500, unless you block the tickets earlier. If you are thinking of going this winter in or around december then you should be looking to pay more than 2000 that too if you are lucky enough to get the ticket!!

yeah i am planning to go this winter, and havent been to nepal for 5 years. i thought nepali travel agencies would be cheaper... what if i call travel agency in nepal and buy from them, would it be cheaper????

Speedbird in NY is the way to go if u r around the area. There's one in Ohio too, where i got a good deal but i forget the name of the person. However, it is pretty late to book tickets for december and at the same time get great deals!

Having said that don't let few hundred dollars scare you. The satisfaction of visiting your own home after years far outweighs anything in this world :) well that's how I felt this summer. And when you come back, you realize that Nepal, after all, isn't that far anymore.

speed bird and third eey travel both suck big time. do a goodle on indian travel agencies around ur area, if u talk to them nice, they'll get u something reasonable.

I paid 1650. Mine airlines is brithish from BOS to LON and gulf to kathmandu from london.

I paid 1600, including tax.

But when I last checked the price for a friend of mine, the price for the same route was no where close.

It might be little cheaper if you go after the christmans...not sure though.

Thanks guys for the information. It really helps. I see all of you have the prices mentioned for how much you paid, but it would also be helpful to know where you bought it from, so that we can contact those agencies as well. I'm also looking to fly around Jan 06.
