This might be a better place to discuss this http://teambeachbody.com/connect/message-boardsI recently borrowed the CDs and equipment from a friend but haven't been able to motivate myself to start it. If you don't mind could you please share your motivation for doing this. It looks like its way hard, I just don't seem to be able to motivate myself to start it. Good luck buddy!

One of my friend did that, Abripper or something, He was thalan for 2 days grabbing his Abs while walking, sitting or getting up,
Bottom line, it works, but don't get excited and do all the sets at the same day or week or month,
Take some time.. that Abs if it hurt then it works, but give it some time..

@walkahead-lol.Thats funny bro. I was like that too the first week.My girl wouldn't stop laughing at me!
@sab_nepali_sathai- The hardest part is getting motivated buddy.A close second is the workout itself!lol. It is butt kicking,i will not lie to you.
But,i have been doing it about about 3 weeks now,and i feel an amazing change in myself.I have way more energy and just the change in my body has been amazing.I can run 2-3 miles and hardly be out of breath.I have lost fat and my body looks way better.I can actually wear that tight tee again and not show off my tummy! And even the though the workouts are still a bit difficult,it has gotten easier with time. Also i've heard that with time it gets easier still.
As for motivation, all i had to do was look at the mirror.I'm not getting any younger and all the years of smoking and unhealthy food was beginning to show.
If you are looking to get motivated, just think about how much better you are going to look and feel.It will be hard in the beginning but trust me it does get better as you progress. The results will totally be worth it.You can also get yourself a body hugging tee and promise to yourself to wear it when you have the body.Another important thing to keep in mind is to try to do it with someone. You don't get bored and you also can motivate each other.I workout with my girl and its way better.
Oh, and at the beginning you will have to take a break every few minutes.Dont worry, with time you will build up the strength. Now all i need is 1 or 2 breaks.
Good luck bud

How old are you? I've done it before and yes, I went through an amazing transformation.

@goosfraba and Bidroh- What about the food/diet? Do you guys suggest I try to follow that too? It's kind of not practical for me to try to follow the diet. What are your experiences on that. Any suggestions? Click here to subscribe to goosfraba's postings. You will get notification when the users posts in sajha.

I bought the CD set over a year ago, and it's been only 2 weeks since I started it! LOL I agree with goodfraba on the motivation factor -- a look in the mirror was getting uglier by the week, with my belly not only protruding, but beginning to "hang" on the bottom. Once I started the program, though, it was far more exciting (thus easier to get on it) to get up every morning and go directly to the DVD station. Now, after 2 weeks, I can hardly imagine myself without the hour-long work outs in the mornings. I didn't stress myself out too much in the beginning. I took more frequent breaks than the DVD suggested, and even didn't bother to force myself to complete a set if I really couldn't. I also didn't worry too much about not being able to follow the reps exactly as it was prescribed. My theory in the beginning was: It would still do me good even if I did only half of what the panel was doing. Now, it has definitely become easier and I am getting closer and closer to the actual prescriptions. I promised myself to compare the before-and-after pictures only after a month, but I have already lost 5 pounds in two weeks. 10 more weeks to go, and 15 more pounds to shed! Diet: No, I am not at all bothering to follow what they prescribe (items), but I sure am trying hard to adjust to smaller portions (of whatever!) and greater frequency of intakes through the day.

Poonte with a six pack. You will have to change your nick :) Good luck bro.
Besides the cost of DVDs, how much did you guys spend on rest of the equipments? What did you buy? Bands?
How active were you before starting P90X?
I have been thinking about it on and off for a couple of years but never went along with it. Suggestions, advices will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

@bidroh-I am 32 yrs old bro. @sab_nepaliko_sathi-No buddy, you don't have to follow their diet.I am not.But one thing to remember is-make sure you take high protein and low carbs. That means a lot less bhat(oh oh) and a lot of protein.Chicken and fish will be good. And also remember, more grilled and the less fried.I am also taking a whey protein shake that is easily available at walgreens, riteaid etc. Another critical factor is to get enough calories,or you will crash during the workout. So have enough food, just make sure it is not the fatty kind. @poonte-Congratulations buddy.Keep up the good workWe should compare notes every week or so,that will help keep both of us motivated. And yes,the workout has gotten much easier and also slightly addictive!Lol.I can't wait to get home and get started! @sangam- I did not have to buy the DVD,a friend had it.If you know someone who has the DVD set,you can easily burn it.As for the weights and band, well that depends on wether you are looking to only get slim and toned,or also to add some bulk. For the toned look, bands are enough.I went and got some weights as i wanted some bulk too.The band is not expensive at all,ten bucks or so. As for me,i was not active at all.Could hardly run before. Now i have a ton of energy. I would advise you to go for it bro.In one month you will be a changed man, both physically and energy wise.Good luck!

goosfraba, How do we know you don't work for the sales & marketing department of the product? You sound too good to be true man, like most of those actors in the TV commercials who I try not to trust. That's the cynic in me, but you may be a genuinely happy customer. :)

Bidroh,
Thanks for the encouragement. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who has P90x dvds. It costs around $140 on their site and a bit cheaper on Ebay.
So what sort of transformation did you go through and how long did it take you to get there? Are you still on it?
Thanks.

Hey guys, sorry for the extremely late reply. Was out of town. @Pret Aatma-Well if i worked for sales and marketing, then would i be saying i got my DVD from a friend and also that you can burn the DVD from someone who has it?Don't sound like a salesman to me!.Anyways all i wanted to know was who was doing it here and wether they were getting results like i was.I am an average joe,and if i can get somebody motivated then it makes me feel good about myself. You don't even have to do P90X,all you have to do is go to the gym.The point is to get healthy. And technically i am not a customer, since i did not pay for the DVDs!lol.Cheers bro,and happy working out
