Friends, I came to Nepal on vacation for few weeks. Had to stamp H1B so went for the visa interview. The interview went very well but at the end of the interview, visa officer handed me a letter saying they need to do some "administrative processing (220g)" on my case and will call me on my contact number and it might take few weeks. I came here for a month vacation and I am in deep tension at the moment. I havent not informed my employer yet. I have a very genuine job (not consultancy one) with good company profile. Has anybody gotten through this before? Can I expedite the process? Your suggestion will be a great help for me. Thanks in Advance, FutyaKarma

FutyaKarma ko VISA lai sakera manche yaha aai sakyo. He is happy now ..
He contacted his manager and his manager wrote a real nice email to the US embassy describing the situation. Then, US embassy called futyakarma for VISA collection. Actually, his VISA had been stamped a week before that but the US embassy @ KTM was just lingering for no reason.

Nepali_American,
Sorry man I am not a selfish ok? I forgot my sajha password and I am at work so took time to reply....
Koolguy and Jhilke_bro,
I got stuck for 3 weeks....I called my employer and my manager sent a nice, sweet email to US embassy in kathmandu (I provided my manager the email address of the consulate office in ktm). He email indicating my importance and all..I am not sure if that expedite the process but anyways a week after my manager sent email, US embassy called me to pick up the passport with visa....
I think you should be ok....just give them couple of weeks.....maybe 2 or 3....and I am pretty sure they will call you up.
Good luck guys.....dont panic..things will work for you both

what does my manager need to write in the email to US embassy if I also get into this situation. What causes the 221g processing?

Well I do not know what exactly he wrote but I think he wrote my presence is very crucial for the projects and he needs me in US ASAP....but again I am not very sure if that speeded up the process.

Thanks futyakarma. I hope I was not too harsh on you.
I do not need this particular information per se as you can proabably tell from my nick, but I am a promoter of information exchange for greater good, meeting the true spirit of this forum. Plus, not too long ago I too was an H1B, so I can understand the anxiety.

Coolguy....don't panic bro.......be cool like your nick......I am sure you will get through this soon.....when was your interview? I heard if for some reason USCIS has not updated the DHS website, it happens and US consulate will take few days to few weeks to get DHS website updated with your H1b info....but it will work in your favor

@futayakarma: First of all thanks for sharing your info. I know there are lot of people who seeks help but once done, they hesistate to help others so kudos for sharing your info. Btw, your name doesn't match with your condition since you got stamped ;-).
@koolguy: Chill out bro, Sh$t happens. This 221g has been happening for like 3 years now so you should have been already prepared for this. Take it easy. Let this immigration stuff not trouble you.Call them everyday and just wait.Try to be cool like your nick name is.
Btw, i am planning to do an interview end of november. As soon as i step in ktm, next day i am doing interview so i have enough time if it's delayed in any case.Looking at lot of cases and since i am a consultant, i am pretty sure i won't get right away. I am prepared to wait. Worst case, i will just stay my home country and use my ideas to make some money :-).
Hope that helps!
Peace

@meraj: Yes, we can schedule an interview even if we are not present in Nepal. All we need is the "DS-160 confirmation page which we will get once we filled and submitted the DS-160 form online", copy of passport and $160 processing fee.
So i am gonna fill out the DS-160 form online, get the confirmation page and send the confirmation page to my home with the copy of my passport online.
They will submit those docs along with $160 and schedule an interview for end of november week.
When my dad asked the people in nabil bank, they said that they cannot schedule for november right now since it's too far so may be after month, we can get an interview date.
Hope this helps!
Peace

I don;t think if you work through consultant it will take time for your visa stamping. I also work through Consultancy and I was in Nepal three week before . I got mine and my wife visa in just after 2 days( usual processing time) . Just get the department of labor stamped in Nepal as I heard sometimes people in immigration hard time on that one. It just takes like 2 hours at Department of Labor in Baneswor. Enjoy your stay in Nepal and don;t worry about working as consultant.Regarding interview date if you reach Nepal on Monday and get date for interview you will get date for Friday . If you have at about 2 weeks holiday in Nepal not much worrying about. Regarding getting appointment for visa didn;t know we could get just with Passport photocopy Nice to know it as it would help me other time. I thought they needed original.

@Perry: Thanks a lot bud for sharing your info. It's good to hear that you got stamped in 2 days being a consultant which makes me little bit hopeful :-). Can you share what kinda of questions you were asked and what kinda of docs did you submit to the counselor?
If you could list the interview scenario with questions like koolguy did at the top, that would be great?
Btw, i think we still can schedule interview from here if we gave them the confirmation page along with the copy of passport with $160. I wish we would have opportunity to schedule online like other countries.
Thanks again. Hoping for all of the experienced sajhaites response.
Peace

I submitted I-797 original and letter of employement from my employer . I didn;t take any document from the client.
I took copies of all the documents provided by employer which they had submitted while petitioning for my H1B. This my employer provided when I asked them for document as I am going for stamping.
LCA
I-129 and all other which they had used while filing.
in addition to that I took tax return/pay stub/bank statement showing activity for last 6 month.
In the interview he asked
Where do you work?
Client location
What do you do?
Described what I do
How many employee your company has?
Replied how many they had. This is provided on I-129
I mentioned what I did and also that what we do for client company.
What is your title?
How many hours?
40 hours and extra hours to meet deadlines. If you would say less than 40 hours this could raise flag
Who do you report?
You should say that you report to your manager in your Employer ( Consultant) . That is how our team is structuted. Don;t mention your client when you are asked who you report to.
How much you making?
I told whatever I make,
Were your previous employement contract based?
No, I had worked previous as employee for two other companies.
Last he saw my previous student VISA and asked so u studied here.
I replied back saying I went there but I got transferred to other university and completed my study there.
