hey guys , i heard a lot abt people joining US army from f1status......

Nope, you heard wrong. They do not process greencard unless you were in the field and possess some expertise.

gooner.. you heard right. they are taking international personnels with F1 or H1B status i.e. non immigrant aliens. They are taking 1000 individuals from new-york and LA as of right now as this is a pilot program. If this program is to success they will be recruiting more in future. Recruiting from LA and NY doesnt mean that they are taking ppl living there only, if you can travel to LA or NY then you are good to go. Anyone can apply i dont think there is an age limit because when i was there, there were a whole bunch of indians who looked like they were in their 40's.
They take a series of test like medical, physical, ASVAB(written) test and a langauge test.( to check to see if your understanding of the langauge probably will b hindi).

Syanjali., i didnt quite get what you are trying to say but once you get in the army your citizenship will be provided within 6 months. they will train you and everything.

Good news then, thanks for the new Pilot program. I did check with local recurting office ( reserve ) they clearly told me that I need Residence Alien  but no recruit to OPT or H1B.

i dunno who you talked to buddy.. but ask them about MAVNI pilot program, also we dont have a choice of being a reserve, we have to sign up for active duty.

yeah gooner, right now since we are not citizens yet we will be given some choices according to our physical and written tests. but once you have your citizenship you will have all the choices US citizens have when they join the army and we can get jobs within our skill zone. right now its all about getting in.

this is good news to those who really want to join the army and fight.. we are gorkhalis and we are mercenaries , British or US who cares.. give me benefit's I will fight for you..
