The best way to protest against load shedding is to cut off all the electricity. You have to be really smart to come up with this.

Students cut off electricity in Kanchanpur
Kantipur Report
MAHENDRANAGAR, Dec 29 - Activists of three different students’ unions cut off 32 KW National electricity transmission line at Lalpur sub-station in Kanchanpur on Sunday resulting to no power supply in dozens of districts.

Students had cut off the line on Sunday afternoon protesting against load shedding.

They had taken out a rally last morning pressurising the employees to cut off the electricity.

They also padlocked the sub-station and pelted stones at the office forcing the employees to cut off the transmission.

The agitating students have demanded to prioritise the Far-western region as load shedding free region and provide them with the transmission supplied in the country from Tanakpur Hydro-electricity in India.

According to Mahakali Treaty, India has been supplying 20 KW electricity from Tanakpur Hydro-electricity project.

Nepal Electricity Authority has been transmitting the electricity to Lamahi sub-station in Dang.

Loadshedding is nothing but fear tactics being played out by the maoist government. A feeling of helplessness has already descended upon the capital due to loadshedding and the maoists govt is extending the load shedding to 18 hours a day soon. With that kind of moral defeat, the people will not be able to resist anything the maoists do. It's a conspiracy to turn Nepali into a failed maoist state.

If the govt really cared they could have imported few turbines and installed it within a month or two but instead, they are spreading their message of fear and domination. Someone hire some sharpshooters and target these traitors. It can't be that difficult.

its better if nepal tries generating electricty not only from hydro power but also from other energy sourses like coal, nuclear, renewal. If the govtment is unable to utilize the water resources, should it not think of some alternatives? Most countries use the least of hydropower for electicity. Although i dun know which is least costly to build. Nepal also should use more aluminium alloy instead of copper. But also... nepal doesnt have much copper....but stillisnt there a better solution?
