While I know that your passport has to be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry/ re-entry into US, does the same rule apply for F-1 visa stamp also?
What if someone has around 4 months of valid F-1 visa stamp. Do you suggest him to apply for another visa stamp, or is it not required?
appreciate your comments.

Don't know about visa. But passport doesn't have to be valid for six month at the time of entry.
It must be valid at least for six month at the moment one applies for U.S. Visa.
Once the visa is approved, you can enter U.S. even if your passport is valid only for a month.
When i was entering USA, My passport was valid for three months but my visa was for five years.
