8 Nepalese athletes along with 24 other delegates( 5 coaches and rest government officials) will be attending the Olympics in Beijing this year from Nepal.
Most of the athletes have expressed their predictions as 'not to expect a whole lot' from them considering their performance and training, while for most athletes it begins years in advance- for the Nepalese it only began a few months ago.
But yet I am happy that the Ministry of Education and Sports took the matter into their own hands to getting and representing Nepal at Beijing Olympics. Salute your effort despite the political turmoil Nepal is going through. Salute to you- THE ATHLETES- who have kept your head held high and never let your spirit down. Its on you my friends, go show the world....AAYO GORKHALI!
So, how can we the the Nepalese nationals abroad support our home team? lets watch it and be proud that we are being represented. I know I will be proud when the athletes in daura suruwal will walk down the tracks in Beijing.
And how about giving our future generation an early start? Telling kids to be active in sports. I know growing up as a kid going to play was like a crime, even the teachers discouraged it (We were a little stubborn I agree). But it is very important we guide our kids to athletic success as much as we push for education. There will be thousands of athletic events from now where we would like to see our country represented in strong numbers and win gold, if not silver or bronze. Thats another way we could be proud of ourselves.
I know the Nepalese athletes have not given hope, and nor should YOU! lets cheer for our Olympic team. LETS MAKE NEPAL PROUD.
Lets cheer for THE SPIRIT OF OLYMPICS that brings the world together.
3 DAYS TO GO

Nepals medal hope DIPAK BISTA I have heard about this athelete a lot. He is been training in Korea for last 4/5 months unlike others who only get 2 weeks closed session training befor ethe competation. As he have qualified to compete from qualifying rounds (not quota like all other players) he have better chance for medal. Dipak is the only second athlete from Nepal yet to qualify for olympics after Sangina Baidhya at last olympics. BEST OF LUCK TO DIPAK WIN ANY THING ... I DONT EVEN SAY GOLD.... LET THE WORLD KNOW WE ALSO HAVE GOOD ATHELETE WHO CAN COMPETE AT WORLD LEVEL.
