okie krishpl...1st of all thanks
But I'd be happier if you(anyone) could also tell me a way to transfer the contacts from the phonebook to the SIM. Currently the only numbers that are saved in my SIM(by default) are 411, Customer Service and & T-Mobile Voicemail.
Appreciate it!

Sahayog,
What kind of phone do you have? Generally, i use motorola phone tool to work on mobile phones. you can import/export files to/from your computer and mobile phone. It works perfect for motorola phones and i assume it works for other phones as well.
Using this software u can easily export all your contacts to your own profile in ur computer and and import back to your new cell phone. Its cool to make mp3 ringtones as well using any mp3 files. you may fins that software in torrent sites also.
