Hey Guys Any 4 year pharmacy graduate of 2003 who is not eligible for licence in USA ? I need one info from you guys. I have heard that they can work in pharmaceutical industries even if they don't have licence to practice in US. Can you suggest me some jobs in those areas and how to apply for that ?? Hoping for your responses..... Sab ko bhalo hos

are you talking about four year pharmacy degree from nepal or india after 2003?? Dang you missed opportunity to work as pharmacist in the pharmacy otherwise you could earn as much as 90 k a year...why don't you do PHD, four years pharmacy degree with PHD will have good chances getting job in industry..it all depends upon your experience in the field as well....

If you have pharmacy degree from nepal, you can still continue doing PHD over here.you don't need to repeat pharmacy again..it is useless and very expensive... I have some of my friends just like you who have pharmacy degree from india and they are doing PHD over here, .....so this will make better chances with two degree to get work in industry....sorry i have no idea about B pharm + MBA...you might get also ..who knows..good luck...

There are usually two options for a foreign pharmacist with 4 years pharmacy program: 1. Continue pharmacy education in US by enrolling into 2nd or 3rd year of 6 year- Pharma D program and then choose either academia or the retail pharmacy or any other options that are available for the US pharmacists (Expensive and literally very minimal chance of getting financial assistance in the form of scholarships and assistantships- the bottom-line, financing your education is the main issue there). 2. Abandon Professional pharmacy program and get enrolled into Biomedical Sciences related (it encompass broad areas of Research based Biological/Biomedical programs) non-pharmacy MS or PhD programs and then continue perusing either in academia or the Industry or any other options that are available for a Biomedical MS/PhD graduates (In contrast, greater possibility of financial assistance in the form of scholarships and assistantships). But for those of us with 4 years B. Pharmacy program, who graduated prior to 2002, can write Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Examination and fulfill subsequent requirements to get Pharmacy license (which may take 1-2 years) to practice in US a Pharmacist (then only you would start earning around 70-90K/year). I had all of 3 options available, but choose option 2 and completed MS in an around 17-18 months and moved on to PhD program immediately after. It was worth full working in Retail pharmacy though because it was then I absolutely realized my interest in academia after my experience working as a retail intern Pharmacist in Rite Aid for a short period- it helped me to figure it out that I personally prefer Academia over Retail pharmacy. I still need to work out on Academia V. Industry! Hope, this will help Sabkobhalohos and lonely 1.

BTW, ss74K reference to friends with 4 years pharmacy degree from India and currently perusing PhD program is interesting to me; at first I was kind of thinking that if he is referring to me (I don’t know if we know each other)! Nonetheless, I am interested to know about your friends who are doing things similar to mine. Do you mind if I ask for possible ways to make communication with them? Please, let me know how I could reach to them.

I have freinds who are currently doing Phd after finishing 4 years bachelor in pharmacy from india , they are currently doing PHD and their research is based upon pharmacology, it is interesting.it doesn't matter where you do PHD as long as your research project is strong and also depends upon your advisor...... ii can tell them about you .

Thank you Nut!! I appreciate your informations. BTW , if financing option is available which one would you think gives more return on investment ? Also, how long does it take to complete PHD in biomedical related subjects ?

ss74K, thanks for the clarification and accept my apology for miss-referring you as "he", it was my bad. BTW, I am not doing Master of Pharmacy, as I have mentioned earlier I have completed my masters couple of years back and now I am in my third year of PhD program in Pharmacology/Lung Biology. I was particularly interested to know about your friend since s/he has also done B. Pharmacy from India (same as I did it couple of years back from India) and is currently doing PhD in Pharmacology (again, something similar to what i am doing now), what a coincidence! I was just curious, they could be someone that I am acquainted with, if not, we could get to know each other in the future! Therefore, I was asking you a favor (if you could) to know possible ways to get in touch with your friends (like email or the University information etc). Once again, sincere apology for my ignorance.
