Pasni aka bhaat khuwaune hoina? Chameli02 ji... I am certain it is done in 5 mths. However when i tried to google it, it says 7-8 mths. Darn am confused. The best solution, if u ask me, would be to give a call to ur close relatives in NEPAL. I am certain, you would find your answer. And for the ornaments, i would imagine, the websites such as munchahouse.com and thamel.com should be able to cater to ur needs. Sorry, could not be of much help. But neverthless, i hope ething goes fine for you. Aja babies haru ko alimk dherai post airako cha.:) Hmmmmmmmmm la aba gool matool, pukka pareko bugulli aka hajur hajuro ankha ko taro ko photu ni tasauna na sajha ma:)... IndisGuise:)

Well my son is now six months and we did a small pasni... fed him bhaat! Gave him kalli baala, new clothes and dakchina. You may want to take to some temple if you want. So was the case with my elder son. This time, the elder one thought it was his brother's "Happi totdi" .i.e happy birthday! Buy some flower to make a mala or two, too. The experience is really blessing... the tiny 7 1/2 lbs you brought home has now teeths and makes sounds, rolls over back and forth and knows how to get attention in no time. Happy pasni to you, Chameli!

Hello Chameli, You should call Nepali Mandir in DC and talk to Pandit Ji. I bet he can help you more than any of us here. If you pay his plane fare he can even fly to your house. -Good Luck

Thank you guys so much!!! It is such a pleasure to know about your kids too. I can imgaine how happy it makes you to see your children grow :) Kalebhut, pasni is the first time you feed your baby with rice. Ok 5 months it is then..... yes i could ask my parents to send it for me... but they are quite old and i did not want to bother them to run around. I live in Arizona so i dont know the DC pandit ji phone number. Maybe i could ask the pandit here too.... but most of them are indians and i am not sure if we do the same thing... i mean i dont know if they do the kalli and baala stuff :) But you guys have been great and i want to thank each one of you for the advice. I will definitely put up my daughter's pictures.

A baby boy's pasni is performed after 6 months, for baby girls, it is either 5 or 7.
