Airport Transit - Delhi Int Airport
Folks,
On my way to KTM, I have a one night transit in Delhi. So, thinking i suld take a hotel close to airport. I arrive in delhi evening 8:30.
Do you have any experience booking hotel close to airport area for transit stay? Anything that i should be cautious about?

If you book hotel you need to get out of airport so need to check your luggage and go though the Indian coustom people. I suggest ask for a business lounge inside the airport, which is pretty good. I was offered for $75 a night, cheaper than many airport hotels. It included free dinner and free internet access.
Jonny's advice is the best advice. However, if you still want to find a cheap hotel, take a pre-paid taxi and ask the taxi driver to take you to a decent hotel/motel. Generally, the further the place is from the airport, the cheaper it is. I went to a place that was 30 minutes away from the airport and paid 2500(Indian Rupees) for a night. If I remember it correctly, the pre-paid taxi cost was 150((Indian Rupees).It worked for me because I wanted to see a bit of night-life there so I traveled all-over the city for a few hours. This is too much of a hassle if you have a lot of luggage.

दुर्भाग्यले हजारौमा एक बदमाश, चाँही फेला परे के हुन्छ ? छटियलको फेला पर्न कुनै बेर लाग्ला त ?
For Backpackers... Adventure.
For Luxury... Star hotels.
If balanced... Prepaid Taxi (Ask them per desire. Pay first: Take the paper.)
Suggestion:
One Night No Problem. (New Airport is Good. Not Bad.)
Nice Bar there is - good Beer (1-2 Hrs), free internet (1-2 Hrs). Watch the TV (1-2 Hrs). Chat with fellow guys (1-2 Hrs). Good Cigarette Room - Smoke if you have to (10 - 15 - 30 minutes, Chat with others). Drink Coffee - Tea (15 - 30 minutes). Take Pictures (15-30 minutes). Duty Free (30 minutes - 1 Hr). Repeat - if needed.
India is Full of Maya(Sanskrit)... If you smile, they will smile.
